For me I think it’s a big upgrade, the amount of features you get with the strata prime is insane. You can really dive deep into editing the sounds in the module. The feel and durability so far seems to be on par with most Roland products. I had the td17 as well, you can see it in my older videos, I don’t regret this upgrade at all

The sensitivity is at 8.7 and threshold is at 28

For a quick overview, I mess around with the eq(boost lows on the toms, scoop the mids, and boost some 3k hz by 6-10db for the attack), the snare sound on my kit is mainly influenced by the reverb and attack settings on it

Yeah I mainly use custom kits I make in the module. The metal/rock premade kits are good but I like to have a more aggressive kick sound and have fun with all the adjustments. And thanks! Thanks for watching!

Yeah I'm just not good at making my own kits. Do you by chance know the names of the pre-made rock/metal kits? I just bought the strata and only had a chance to try about the first 8 pre-made kits.

@@vonbleak101 for what you get for the price yeah I’d recommend the Alesis. The samples included in this kit are very versatile and with all the tweaks you can make on the module, you can get any drum sound you want

Thanks! That really depends on how wide you set up the rack. Right now mine is about 7 feet wide and 5ish feet deep.

I use a zoom Q8n camera which has an xlr input. So I go directly from the main out of the module to the camera. You can record stuff on the module and export it onto an sd card though.

I think this kit would be great for that application, the samples in the kit sound great and so far the kit is very reliable

For the tweaks tab on the toms, all I have adjusted is the attack and dampening. All the toms are set around 30% attack. Cymbals don’t have many tweaks at all except volume adjustments

@todd_drums how much dampening did you use for your toms? I can't get mine to sound quite as crisp/punctuated with all the reverb added

@@Punisher_JKU the high toms are around 20-30 percent and then the floor toms are around 40 percent. To get them to be more crisp I boost 2.5 - 3k a decent amount to get that attack

Thanks! And yeah I’ve made some tennis ball risers just for the pedals. I used 1/4 inch mdf boards and cut tennis balls in half and screwed them into the board. It seems to reduce the vibration into the floor a decent amount.
