This song has such an effect on me. I don’t really know why. I’ve been a Christian my whole life. Several years ago I had a bad panic attack. It was the first one I ever had and I didn’t know what was happening cause I never had one. I thought I might die and it was very traumatic for me. Ever since then I’ve had bad anxiety about some things. Especially lately when I moved really far away for the first time. I got even more anxiety and it prevented me from even going places. One day I talked to a therapist and she said that I need to push through. So one morning when I was super nervous about going to church I woke up and forced myself to get ready. My anxiety started coming on and I kept trying to fight it; on my own. I kept thinking “Dang it I don’t want to stay home again.” I then played some Christian music and it wasn’t really helping till this song came on. I played it over and over and for some reason only described as God’s power and peace, I felt at peace about it all. I felt as if I never had any anxiety about leaving. I went to church and my family was surprised by how I was at peace just like that. Another day I was having very bad physical pains. I prayed and prayed cause I was afraid to go to the hospital and the pain was bad. I played this song over and over and kept praying and held my mini cross tight. Then just like that I felt 100% better and was jumping up and down later that day and yet again my family was surprised how I went from doubled over in pain and almost having to go to the hospital, to jumping up and down and acting as if I never was in pain. So many times I get anxious, afraid, in pain, whatever. It’s so easy for me and us all to focus on the pain, but we need to focus on God and trust in Him. I feel like this song is a reminder to myself when I’m in pain or anxious, that He is always there and will always get me through whatever I’m going through. My reminder that I need to get back into His word. My reminder of how far He’s gotten me and how far He’s gonna get me. Amen!
