I haven’t done any lists of Japanese cards but that’s a good idea, they definitely are much cheaper! TCGplayer recently added Japanese cards as their own category which should make finding them much easier!

Yea, it’s a bit rough right now! My best advice is to wait it out. Pokemon company has promised to print more, and if they print enough it won’t be worth it for the scalpers! Now is a good time to take a look back at previous sets and pick up singles from those while people are chasing prismatic!

My fiance and I are also new to the hobby and we're having a lot of fun, mostly because we are not chasing Prismatic and Surging, there is a lot of slightly older product that is really fun to open and collect. We are 85% on our Master Stellar Crown set and once we finish it we are moving to Obsidian Flames then working our way through the S and V era from the beginning.

Yea, that Smeargle is really cool! There a couple others that I missed in this video like the Octillery and Milotic which are also super cheap! I feel like the Galarian Gallery gets more respect than the Trainer Gallery but both are awesome!

100% feel you, the whole space is weird right now. I like playing physical way more than digital and luckily the pricing hasn’t hit playable singles as hard! I’ve decided to not even try getting sealed as much unless it’s msrp and sticking to singles for now.

I think the Japanese foiling is a little bit different. The English promos should share the same foiling except for the stamp!

If you don't care for the language and investing, Korean booster boxes are your best bet. They're cheap and are a great option for beginner collectors. Unfortunately, the English card market is ruined by all the greedy scalpers so expect it to die down in a few months to a year :/ Hype is really hot because of TCG Pocket right now

@ oh yea definitely. Even comparing English to Japanese, Japanese is much cheaper looking at most singles. The hype coming from Pocket should not be underestimated!
