What kind of scissors is that? Mine keeps tearing the tape half way through.

So, who sells that kind of folding mat board (0:41)? I Googled "folding mat board" and found nothing.

The people in this video people are almost impossible to hear. The instructors voices and it is so soft that they taper off to inaudibility. I strongly suggest that if additional videos are done, they should use lavalier type microphones positioned near their faces. Also, lose the background noise as it masks the low level speech and it is distracting.

Would this be a normal way to present a photo for a contest? The rules simply say 8X10.

The idea of “T” hinges is to allow the hinged art work to expand or contract. The way this video demonstrates “T” hinging makes that impossible. Look at the Fine Art Trade Guild Study Guide or get a profession Framer to show how to hinge correctly.

hello, what material is your backing board?

Things to learn, attaching mat to backing board, does nothing except waste tape, as said below hinges should only be placed at the top edge.

There are literally zero options to use these things any other way 😂

I only T-hinge the top 2 corners of my print so the print "hangs" freely on the bottom and is able to move around with temp/humidity changes once its framed (trapped under glass). If you tape all 4 corners down there is a chance of getting the "bacon" effect with wrinkles/buckles over time with temp/humidity chnages in the home/office. Ive seen this happen and its not pretty for a customer. For the double sided tape to final close up the matted print, instead of using an entire long strip, I use these mini double sided squares just in case you do need to open it up later it wont tear the entire mat: "Reflections Double-Sided Mounting Squares - 500 pcs" . Available in your local art supply store. Acid free and photo safe and repositionable.

The clear sleeve plastic bags from GSA are a MUST for all my matted (unframed) work that I sell at the art gallery shows and street faires' Gotta protect those pieces until they are sold or framed for sure. I ususally get mine with the "show kits" that include the mat, backing board and the clear sleeves.

To hold down my prints during my matting process, i use this: "Lineco Tuff Stuff Weight Bags, Water Repellent Heavy Duty Polyester with Micrograin Steel Pellets, 1 Pound". Its safe and soft. Works great for larger stuff like 11x14 and 12x18. For mounting my prints I use the t-hinge method using the Lineco Linen tape but those clear photo corners are also good. Keep up the good videos.

Not a fan of these myself due to the amount of touching of the print you have to do to get them in, but for a cheap and easy way to "frame" an image, its a good option for many. Keep it up.

Not for me as I prefer to use normal mats and not have to touch the actual image (even though I wear gloves). This will scratch the pix as well but for some people who are casual and just need something quick and arent being delicate with their fine art photos its fine. Also without T-hinges on the back of the image and held down to the mat, the pix will move around and slip over time which is not good looking. Congrats on the new product launch. Hope you sell a lot of them
