Welcome to my channel my name is Jay I am your host for Canadian Magnet Fishing. With this channel we will be searching in the great outdoor waters in Canada for magnetic objects using a strong neodymium magnet. Magnet fishing is a new hobby I have discovered and want to share with others who are interested in this new profound hobby.
Taking Care Of Your Magnet
In this video is how I take care of my magnet fishing equipment. I didn’t see to many videos teaching on proper care. In lots of videos I did see rusted out magnets and poor rope been used.I decided to make a quick video to demonstrate the way I look after mine. Oh it wasn’t so bad. Turned out they were good kids they listen welll. The other video teaching my family to magnet fish them kids didn’t. They were on Floaties kept hounding to be on the video also getting in the way. Had to explain to them if they get hit by my magnet they will get hurt.

Somebody was weighted down
It was a weight that supported a floating dock
I’m new to this magnet fishing thing and am just using a harbor freight special for the moment. Can you explain to me how a single magnet can pull a 3600lb item out of the water. Scrap yards use giant crane mounted electro magnets to lift that weight off the dry ground.
@@NJFatguy they rate it at 3600 pounds divide that by two so it’s 1800 on each side. Take 1” solid steel and stick it on their you will have a work out to get it off but you take a set of keys and it’s a little easier. If you put your fingers in between that magnet and steel it will do damage. I don’t recommend someone with no experience to use that size of a magnet a 1200 pound double sided or 2000 pound is a good starter magnet. But still you have to be careful.
Those anchor weights are concrete formed to put 4 x 4 post in for fencing or forms
@@alabamascrapper3965 Ya it is I guess that is what they were using to keep the dock stable. My first video no one was loud on that dock, it was starting to float away. Now it’s fixed so I think the weight came off it and they never tried to get it. That dock was left in all winter so when the ice melted is probably the problem they had with it coming unhooked.

I’m glad I’m not the only Canadian magnet fisher that doesn’t catch much. One American magnet fisher posted his attempts fishing in Canada. All he could say was holy clean water. I just do it because it’s relaxing. Keep up the good work 👍🇨🇦

yea definitely rail plate helps secure the rail to the cross tie here in the states you would never take that to recycling sell for weight thats considered railroad property no matter where you found it youll have guys in suits at your door on Saturday morning just like my brother
Ya here CN rail has junk scattered. You don’t dare take it off their property. I fuel CN Rails trains ,in the middle of nowhere they have scattered junk. I still don’t help myself to it.
