The one and only - legend is too small a word for him.
Such a melancholy short film
I love the atmosphere of the men dressed in black wearing those creepy masks The way they look down at the man praying is so chilling Also, when they carry the coffin while chanting, "Dead dead dead dead"
MS NEGRI DIED IN SAN ANTONIO TX not 1980s
How come he doesn't sound very american?
Showing my ignorance here. I thought he was American, this clip is an absolute treasure.
Remember him forever. A great man who rose from nothing with hardly anything but for his amazing strength of character and genius.
What a snitch and traitor.
Wow. Fascinating ❤️♥️
One of the greatest sadistic Man
💘💘💘💘 Love & respect from India 🇮🇳❣️🙏😊💐
Thank you for sharing. I thought I saw Douglas Fairbanks coming out of the church.
Seriously funny, and funny seriously!! Great man!
Robert Downey Jr portrayed Charley in a movie years ago. He was fabulous!
Would be cool to read those books nowadays
Thanks
Non mi spiegherò mai perche le persone speciali , particolari vanno via presto ,sempre giovani 🥺💔
His accent is very light. Expecting a thick old school typical british accent.
Pretty obvious this was what inspired the Senate hearing in the Godfather Part 2 lol
It's nice seeing Creighton with his arm around his stepmother, Hazel. It looks like they had a close relationship. How tragic it was that Hazel died only 3 years after Lon. Maybe she died from a broken heart?
amazing footage imagine I visited his grave in LA almost 92 years later
The man who filled cheers in the minds of millions during the depression
Is the building still standing today? And what building is it in New York?
It was so cruel what America did to Charlie. He was told he couldn't come back to America unless he was tried for his "politics and his morals." J. Edgar Hoover was responsible for this along with the CIA and FBI. Apparently, Hoover thought it was morally acceptable to have a homosexual lover, Mr. ClydeTolsen, to occupy his bed. Hoover did the same thing to the Kennedy's. Hoover was obsessed with the sex lives of JFK and RFK. I will always believe that Hoover, the CIA, FBI and some of our elected officials were responsible for the assassination of both JFK and RFK. Luckily for Ted, he did not become President, or they would have killed him too. Charlie did not deserve what they did to him. Shame on the USA. He gave us the joy of laughter when it was needed most.
A brave, intelligent and articulate man.
Einstein wanted to meet him. He was a genius.
A photo of Einstein, Chaplin & Picasso would've broken the... mmm... uhm... radio?
I've heard once that he was actually shot in the stomach by a jealous husband, whose wife was a big fond of the actor. When Valentino was brought to a hospital, he asked for no scandal at all, and the medics came up with the appendicitis. The Press took it for granted.
🤩🌷🌷🌷🌷
In a cold and dreary world when someone appears on the screen that reminds people of love joy and compassion when they leave the theatre they will never see the world the same again.
He would have been fascinating to meet and talk to him. He really was a sweet man.
Descanse em paz,Rudy,❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Come dire, perfetto!
This is WONDERFUL. Truly a treasure. Thank You!!!!!
A lovely, frank interview with Sir Charles Chaplin. He is so relaxed and generous about himself and his collaborators here. Thank you for posting.
On an off note, these cameras are incredible quality, sharp and smooth! Only black and white
this is beautiful!!!!
continue resting in peace King of comedy
The lady that lived across the street from my family killed herself on the anniversary of his death. This guy was a “wonder” for that age group.
I knew several old flappers when I was a little girl that still had his picture on the back of their bedroom doors. For real! They never got over him being dead!
that last scene is crazy in the living room with his son. Wolfman and the Phantom just hangin out drinkin some beers.
Not bad for a lad from Kennington who endured poverty, alcoholic father ,workhouse and a mum unable to look after charlie and his brother.. Amazing. Wonder if he supported Millwall..😂
The man of mystery unmasked
hah. missing this. just me and my group, acting for the hell of it. tried to reconnect with the gang a while back, didn’t work out so great. i guess friends are only friends when you need them.
RYAN WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! I’ve missed our era. I come back to this video frequently. Miss you dog😂❤
dude, that widow bit was fucking hilarious. and you came up with that on the spot!! we were howling up something fierce when you committed f-ing hard.
Born and raised in Los Angeles I remember seeing many of these places. I went to many shows at the Coconut Grove and my aunt took me to the Brown Derby. But I came too late for the Sphinx head.😂😂
Nice haircut.
Incredible human being. So well spoken. The optics and sound in this video is amazing too.
It was made in 1969, not 1909.
@@jeffryphillipsburns you really had to share that eh
Almost 100 years ago... damn!
I only found this today. Never having seen him questioned at length before, it felt as if I’d suddenly stumbled upon an interview with God. Amazing.
Yep, me too. What a gem of a video! 👏
It's January 2024 and I'm getting emotional watching this video. Thinking about how young Rudy was when he died. How heartbroken his family, friends, and fans felt. Then realizing that everyone in this video is now dead.
He is right, he is not funny but very serious actor even if people think that he is funny. It is the powerful messages behind his ideas and movies.
