Her chorus is way better than the original but Prince’s phrasing (not voice but timing) of the verses is way better, he waits almost to the end of the bar and delivers the line, Prince verse style and Dami chorus style and Matteo playing the guitar solo or Chris Buck, Prince was a hopeless guitarist (unpopular opinion and yes I can do better), but that’s life, history and choices, if I were to sing this song and I can imitate Dami in the lower range, I would sing it in Japanese it sounds so different Murusaki no Ame, is Purple Rain but I think in songs you are allowed to shorten phrases a lot more than in casual speech so I would make it Mura no Ame, or Mura-Ame or probably all three.

This is her best performance.. she was lit this night ! Still gives me goosebumps even after the 100th play !

I LOVE this song for this movie and this moment. It’s a moment that SO MANY women… even “women of faith” have experienced; myself included. Thus, it speaks to the heart, and it brings hope. “The night will only last for so long… The sun is rising.” That’s a message that Christ called us as believers to share with the world; not just to keep with ourselves. And those, who harassed her for the song being in the film should read the Bible and remember what Jesus said to the Jewish religious leaders, who were corrupting what it is Jesus came to do through salvation.
