    @hogtown Hi There! Very informative video, the one thing I wish you had touched on in your video is which Polytopia tribe would pick the John Deere over the Cub cadet, I feel like this is vital information that the people need to know!

    You still using that "quick oil change"?

  • @gregcostello8210

    Should have spent an extra 800$ and got the s240. Kawasaki motor, accel deep deck, K46 transmission and no quick filter oil change system. The box store mowers just don’t compare with the dealer exclusive models

    Buddy of mine has a John Deer D105, he's had it for 21 years, never once a problem with it, matter of fact I think it he still has the original blade pully belt on it and he mows his yard and two other lawns once a week over all about 2.5 acres, over 1300 hours on it.. My Cub cadet ( MTD ) is 21 years old I've been threw a total of 13 deck belts with only 490 hours

    You can't compare as 20 year old mower to a new one! That's not a fair comparison! I have a 20 year old Cub Cadet that's still going, but I wouldn't compare it to a new John Deere!

    John Deere fan boy here. I do want to give you some advice that you can take it or leave it. The quick change oil filter system does NOT drain all the oil. Plenty of dirty oil still left inside that engine when you put on a new expensive filter. A 30-40 dollar kit can convert this to a normal oil change system, where you actually drain all the dirty oil, and put on a new 8 dollar filter. Well worth it. Hope she does you good for many years.

  • @Richard-gi9cj
    @Richard-gi9cj 5 місяців тому

    Now we’ll wait to see another video when you get the same hours of use on the John Deere. Because a lot of what you’re comparing is just old technology it’s not necessarily better. Like the rear end just because it’s bigger doesn’t mean it’s stronger.

  • @jp-us9rq
    @jp-us9rq 7 місяців тому

    Hey bro it dont change all the oil just a little bit u can still drain it and add all new but the filter is expensive but is twice the size of a regular filter i kept mine on i drain all the oil though ot costs almost 70 bucks for a oil change

    I have a 2023 JD S170 and it has 15.7 hrs on it. So far cheap plastic steering wheel cracked and took weeks to get in. Now the belt to the lawn mower deck broke and I have to pay $100 for the service center to pick it up and they seem unsure if it will be covered by warranty! Less than 16 hours of cutting my flat 1/3 acre grass in the suburbs. The hood has no support to stop the wind from catching it and breaking it, just plastic junk. I was going to get a snow blower but found out the impeller is made of plastic! Are you kidding me?! The dealership said this is entry level so they’re plastic. Total junk. My neighbor has a cheap tractor with a snow blower and it has a steel impeller, so does my push snow blower. JD Is greedy and resting on their laurels and ripping us off. I thought JD was top of the line and just bought the best one they had at Lowes. I’m going to sell it this spring and look at the competition.

    You are not comparing apple to apple. I have Cub Cadet gt2554 and it will blow away your John Deere. Comes with a drive shaft , cast iron rear differential.

    • @nakrohtap
      @nakrohtap 8 місяців тому

      I was about to say the same thing. It's nice he likes his new mower. But, comparing it to an old Cud Cadet is not a fair comparison. Maybe he is just illustrating what the new one has over his old CC. However, Cub Cadet makes an XT2 SLX54 and GT54. They are a few hundred dollars more. But, the GT54 comes with a better transmission and a fabricated deck. The fact that a $3,600 John Deere does not have a fabricated deck is a huge oversight. Both have 22" rear wheels as well. The CC's also have a better 3 year unlimited hours warranty versus the 2 year/120 hour warranty of the John Deere. To each their own. Personally, I would rather have a Cub Cadet. I don't need one of this level, though. For $3,400, I would rather have the XT2 LX46 since I don't live on huge land to mow.

      @@nakrohtap I was going to say the same thing shame on John Deere at the cost of this rider to put a stamped deck on it wow, yes all major brands have stamped decks usually on their lower end ones. I have an Cub XT1 LT-50 and it has a fabricated deck not the place to scrimp I learned from experience fab deck is a must...

    • @mrbubetube
      @mrbubetube 7 місяців тому

      I haven't heard of any problems with it yet other than the high cost. It used to be 3 times the cost of a regular oil change when it first came out. Now it's at least 4 times the cost or more, and you're only changing half the oil. The only advantages to that "easy change half the oil" system is if you live in an upscale neighborhood where regular oil changes are BANNED, or if you just don't like doing the regular messy oil changes.

Good little machine im going to fix what I can and use it all till the deck goes out then ill probably swap the 20hp Kohler Command horizontal shaft engine into a older machine and make a cool little work horse. Like I did with my old Case 222 I saved from the scrap yard and use as a puller and snow pusher.

    Change the oil in 30 sec. how stupid are you! change 1/3 of the oil of that price? All people i se that have that oil filter change is to the old style! this is just stupid! You have just the Tuff torq K46 like the Cub cadet xt1. Bigger wheels or not 🤣

  • @freedomliberty7611

    The john deere is a really nice mower. I've got a cub cadet ltx1040 that I just redid everything on the deck trying to limp it along for another season or two. I got a much better cut by doin away with the OEM blades and buying g5 gatorblades. All four of my tires have cracks from dryrot and I had to put slime in them. The motor and transmission has held up ok,but I'm not towing anything,just mowing. Hopefully in another year or two I can pick me up a new or gently used john deere

    I've got an ltx1040, which is the same but minus the timed deck. I had a messed up spindle,so I bought an entire deck rebuild kit. I'd put the deck up on sawhorses since I had so much to. After I got done I went to pick it up and had my left hand cupped under the lip of the deck. As I picked up on it the sawhorse hit the blade and spun around and caught my pinky. Cut all the way through my finger nail. I didnt wanna go to the hospital so it got wrapped up in black tape and gauze. Just a dumb mistake that's costing me now.
