Welcome to our channel! Just a couple of guys bringing you along on our hunting adventures. Over the years we've had some incredible wildlife encounters and wished we could've share the experience with our family and friend, but we didn't have any cameras rolling. A few years ago after an epic successful archery elk hunt, we decided to start packing cameras and share our hunts and life experience in the outdoors. Hope you enjoy!

I am thinking to splash 400 on these but not the boa. But I am fed up of trying boots, last was SCARPA so uncomfortable. fed up of buying and selling/returning boots , but i must try to be able to find the one
@@tecmissle9256 that’s the thing about boot… feet are so different from one person to another. All you can do is keep trying until you find the ones that fit you and your hunting style best. I’ve tried 2 different boots this year and I kept finding myself going back to the LYNX. Will definitely be buying the regular lace LYNKS for 2025 season. Good luck!
Could use more Frames Per Second, some parts are hard to watch. But cool video!
The manufacturer states no more than 2 turns at a time going back and fourth.
@@MadMetalShop yup. That’s why I alternated 1 turn on each side.
I always questioned the logic of storing a nice clean drinking water tank in a filthy stove body.
If you at the local range it be perfect
@@kevingetrich yup just used it at the range a few days ago!
He’s definitely dead
Yup!
I had forgotten about your video and stumbled upon it again when deciding on new vanes. I have the blazer heat but the slightly lower profile with fixed blade single bevel don't seem to have quit enough restoring torque for slight form imperfections at longer distance. I have also chosen the AAE Hybrid HP vane due to it being a taller vane. My arrows also came in at 472 grains...
@@kodiakfisher nice!! I really like them. Been shooting quite a bit since the season is a few weeks away. I am amazed how well my setup performed in high wind and shooting 70 yards out! Be sure to subscribe to the channel and I really appreciate the comment. Good luck this season!
Congrats on such a stud of a bull. That mass and the fact he is a 7x7 just tells how old he is. Most definately a bull of a lifetime. Again, CONGRATS...!!!
@@JessieFoss-z4f thank you!!
Ear protection. Check. Eye protection?
When 50% of your video is just you filming you and talking about you, you lost me.
@@toreyyoung1518 it’s hard to document hunts when there isn’t a dedicated camera guy. I appreciate the feedback.
Have you ever looked into what color ungulates see the best. They see anything in the blue light spectrum as well as we see blaze orange. The blue is not something found in nature.
That’s a great point. Hopefully it’s not going to cost me not filling my tag!
Making fires in September in Oregon?
@@stevevick9946 yes! The fire danger was extremely low last year. Obviously this year, that won’t be the case.
Nice man!! Congrats!! I want to do this so bad!! Just want a cow elk. Question for you. How do you sharpen your G5 Montec?
@@theeverlyboys8725 Thank you!! It’s a lot of fun and hard work. Every time I go on a hunt, I learn something new. I don’t resharpen the broad heads. I use old ones for practice and buy new for hunting.
@@mtnaddicts ok so you don’t sharpen them new either? I haven’t bought any new montecs so I don’t know how sharp they come out of the pack. The old ones I have I’ve had for years and were not sharp out of the pack so I sharpened them. I may have to pick your brain on how to hunt elk. I’ve only hunted whitetail and small game. Where do you go?
@@theeverlyboys8725 It all depends where you live and where the nearest elk country to you is. I suggest reaching out to hunting groups on Facebook and see if anyone around your region is willing to take you around. You can help them pack out meet and just try to be a sponge and learn as much as you can. Then start applying for tags. Going on a few hunts with someone experienced could save you years of gathering knowledge if you were to just do it on your own.
@@mtnaddicts man I live in Va. I’m looking to go out west and hunt them one day
Proof of sex just leave the utter on simple
We did exactly that on a youth hunt 2 weeks ago and worked perfect. Way easier than packing the head out. 👌
Good video. Thanks for creating it.
@@R_Arizona thank you!
Eno does NOT back their product!! Cheaply made and they do NOT back up their stuff. Buy cottage business, they do
Thanks for the video. I love Davis and own two of their tents. I am a little surprised at the stove pipe design though. I have two stoves made by other brands and both of them go from largest on bottom incrementally to smallest on top (5" on bottom to 4" on top) I would think that it would be a matter of physics that the stove would draw better going from large to small.
Can it be placed vertically?
Yes.
I'm sure there's something in that Hunt I could use.
What’s that?
Great video Brother , you guys are blessed to have forests like that. I’m stuck in commufornia . What state are you guys in ? Keep the great videos coming 🤙🏼 thanks again.
Thank you. We’re in Oregon.
@@mtnaddicts Awesome, beautiful country up there . 🤘🏼
Magviews setup is nice but takes some time to get down! I found your channel from a shed group on FB, I believe we are from the same area. From my experience in EO this year there was lots of early droppers . Great video! Definitely subscribed
Thank you!! Yup EO! I’m considering pulling the trigger on Ollin before hunting season. Thanks for reaching out and huge thank you for subscribing!
I guess it is not better than Vanguard Endeavor HD 82.
Why are you obsessed with Vanguard? Actually, you don t like it...Meopta , Kowa prominar , Nikon edg ...these are for you ...if you can afford them
I have diamondbak 15x56 hd binoculars. And viper hd 10x50 . But diamondback spotting scope is bad , full of CA...so i heard . Maybe razor , but much more expensive .Vortex products have great warranty , nice advertising . Btw , Leupold scopes are great . Have a nice day .
Just found your channel the other day. Love your videos brother. Great content & awesome info, keep em coming 🤙🏼
Thank you! Means a lot!
Mannnn I think I know where this is ! Went out two days didn’t find crap. Nice vid
Thank you! Keep hammering!
Super cool, what state you guys in
Thank you! We’re in Oregon.
Haha, that was my guess. In live in la grande
EO!
I have the same Dewalt bin that I keep my 12 x 15 Davis tent in. Inside there are small hooks that are molded into the ribs. I used a random orbital sander to take these hooks off and round them over so the tent doesn't snag and tear the tent when putting it in the bin. I caught the stove jack cover flap on one and tore it at the edge. Easily fixt the tear but wish I had not done that. Love the tent!!!
That’s a great idea. I’ve been fearing that also. I better do the same thing. Thank you!
I bought the Elk package and have used it for the last two years and I have not been disappointed it is a great tent. Stayed warm and dry during the night at -5 degrees and snow on the ground
Kept us nice and warm also last November. It’s definitely a solid tent.
Great video!
Product is good offers good protection ran it for one year but Ollin is better
@@poyo503 yes.
Those antlers are going to become food for other animals that forage along the forest floor. floor.
Whomp Whomp
Yes
Was that a 14 X 16,.. or 12 X 14? Great job,.. yes it definitely gets easier after the first time setup
Thank you!! It’s the 14x15 Elk Package. Here’s the link to it. www.davistent.com/product/elk-camp-complete-package/
Hope you guys are doing great! Hope you draw out and get to use your Bow Hitch 🏹🤘🏽👊🏽
Thank you. Same to you guys! Got some WY hunts planned for 2024. Hopefully we’ll draw. Working on editing our 2023 hunts as we speak. Had some success. The Bow Hitch came in clutch!
Keep making them videos thank you
790 sub keep making more please
Awesome!! Thank you! Working on a few as we speak.
@mtnaddicts Do you have one with your current gear that you actually Like for weather if you were to go in Washington?
I've never seen this done I really wanna try it. Just go collect antlers
@@MrJacobmetcalf I don’t but I’ve been thinking to do a gear dump video. What time a year are you referring to and what part of WA? That’ll make a big difference.
@@MrJacobmetcalf careful. It’s quite addicting.
This is the first video I've watched of yours. Looking forward to all of your other ones
Thank you!
I just bought a pair of Zamberlan 4014 LYNX MID GTX RR BOA. Expensive but well worth it. Snug, comfortable, flexible, super light with a beautiful camo look. I have no problem putting them on or taking them off. They say that they're not insulated, but I've worn them in extreme cold and heat, yet the inside temperature remains somewhere in between. I love them.
That’s great to hear! Mine are still solid. Definitely going with the regular shoe laces on my next pair.
That took forever before you started the unboxing. I just ordered the same tent. Not the elk kit. Building my own stove.
🤦🏼♂️ sorry, sometimes I get carried away. That’s awesome you built your own stove. I’m really happy with the Davis tent stove. The whole system is solid. Very impressed and happy with mine. Thanks for reaching out!!
Seems like you have to waterproof the boots. Never had an issue with leather boots at all. Just put some wax on the leather and it takes care of them with no issues.
If you’re referring to Elk Hunter’s, they are made with Nubuck leather and you can’t use traditional leather treatment. In fact, traditional leather treatment will ruin them. Reached out to Danner and said that most likely, the Goretex liner is faulty.
Thanks for the video...I got one in and love it. Super fun...Crank mine down to 20 or 30lb and it's a blast to shoot.
You’re very welcome. Glad you’re liking the bow. Thanks for reaching out and for subscribing!!
That's interesting you went with the 26.5" frame being 5:10".... How long is your torso? I'm 5'9" at 178lbs, and my torso is around 20" so I'm going for the 25" frame. Does that 26.5 " frame work for you well?
I do have a long torso and the pack fits me great. I’ve put a ton of miles on it this archery season in Oregon and I have no complaints. I just trusted the guys at EXO when they fitted me.
I hope I get to pack some meat with it and test it. But I did have it loaded with elk horns this spring and performed awesome. Here’s the video. 2023 Elk Shed Hunt || Fresh Elk Sheds!!! || ua-cam.com/video/JDclGOJSpZ4/v-deo.html
@@mtnaddicts cool vid, quite a climb you did!
@@mtnaddicts I decided to go with the 5000 for now and the 25” frame, going to test it out next week, just hiking around my neighborhood with some weight in it. Should work for my size. Can’t wait to get out there in a few weeks, just doing some late fall hiking/camping in BC.
Bunch of people crying in the comment section lol video was great. I really appreciate the help thank you.
Haha. Thanks!
FIX HIS FORM!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was his first time ever shooting. Didn’t want to overwhelm him.
@@mtnaddicts yeah, I know. But if he doesn't develop bad habits initially, he won't have to break them later.
Bruh chill, I guarantee your form ain't 100% up to standard either. You prob a trigger puncher
How’d the molle holster end up working? I’m currently weighing getting an adapter for my safariland but worried the PALS on the belt will tear
Works great! No complaints whatsoever. Overtime the slots on the belt could possibly stretch…
Boring
Do you like it more than the bow spider? honestly man
Absolutely, but I’ll know for sure after this hunting season. The Spider, was not practical for me at all. Was always fighting to put it on my pack and the bow was swinging around. Also I hated that it wouldn’t fit in my bow case with it on.
Followup to your question… The Bow Hitch was incredible. Used it all the time. Will not be hunting without one!
Hope you got one for me. Haha
I tried but I’m sure you can use Travis’s since he won’t be packing a bow around this year!
Too much music.
Great video. Thank god I’m decent at reading lips.
Ha. That’s awesome. That dang wind.
I learned on mushroom wonderland channel those brain mushrooms are highly toxic.
They are. However, in Oregon the toxicity level is very very low.
@MTN Addicts I'll pass lol. Cooked some up once and had a little bubble guts lol
