Hey guys! Maybe you can help me. I've been a christian for a little over a year now. My church I attend generally reads from the ESV and NLT. I really want to read the KJV, but one of my issues is the text, the KJV stuff. I've binge watched a lot of Mark Wards videos talking about 'false friends'. Words like 'study, halt, conversation' etc. not meaning what they mean today. So when I try to read the KJV, I have almost no idea if what I'm reading actually means today what it meant then. And I feel a 'pull' to the KJV, I can't explain it. Is there ANY help you may provide for this? I'm struggling so much with this. I started a reading plan at the end of last year called 'the Dr. Horner's Reading Plan". He suggests sticking with a single bible AND translation to learn it and get comfortable with it, and I want so much for the KJV to be that. I've been stuck in translation soup for so long, and prayed heavily, but I can't land anywhere.... Sorry for dumping all this at you. Your video popped up in my feed, and for some reason, I felt I should ask this. God bless you fellas, have a wonderful week.

Word slave appears twice in the Bible ? Really ? 180 times the word, "slave" is used in the Bible. Here are just a few: Genesis 9:25 he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of SLAVES will he be to his brothers.” Genesis 9:26 He also said, “Praise be to the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the SLAVE of Shem. Genesis 9:27 May God extend Japheth’s territory; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be the SLAVE of Japheth.” Genesis 15:14 But I will punish the nation they serve as SLAVES, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. Genesis 16:1 [ Hagar and Ishmael ] Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian SLAVE named Hagar; Genesis 16:2 so she said to Abram, “The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my SLAVE; perhaps I can build a family through her.” Abram agreed to what Sarai said. Genesis 16:3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian SLAVE Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. Genesis 16:5 Then Sarai said to Abram, “You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my SLAVE in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me.” Genesis 16:6 “Your SLAVE is in your hands,” Abram said. “Do with her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her. Genesis 16:8 And he said, “Hagar, SLAVE of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. Genesis 20:14 Then Abimelek brought sheep and cattle and male and female SLAVES and gave them to Abraham, and he returned Sarah his wife to him. Genesis 20:17 Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelek, his wife and his female SLAVES so they could have children again,

Nope. The people in Israel were not merely "bond servants". They also included chattel slaves. Chattel slavery is defined as "the enslaving and owning of human beings and their offspring as property, able to be bought, sold, and forced to work. Another definition is: "The condition in which one person is owned as property by another and is under the owner's control, especially in involuntary servitude." Leviticus 25 explicitly describes and condones chattel slavery. "44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids. 45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession. 46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour." Under Mosaic law, foreign slaves were chattel slaves. They could be bought, sold, separated from their families, beaten, raped, killed, kept for life, and passed down as inherited property. Every specific reference to foreign slaves in the Bible is to deny them rights and protections afforded to Hebrew slaves. The treatment of foreign slaves was every bit as bad, or worse, than slavery in the Antebellum south. It is depressing to watch African Americans deny and excuse chattel slavery. This it the evil of religion.

Interesting discussion. Let me ask you, since it is written that Moses witnessed Christ Jesus ' transfiguration, would it be logical and fair to say that he is one of the two Witnesses mentioned in the Book Of Revelation?
