Nice wheels! Looking great! I suggest change the gearing if you drastically increase the stock tire diameter size. This will cause issues other than just the motor heat. If you don't eventually burn up the motor, you will at least decrease its life span for sure.
I installed cooling fans to the motor and upgraded speed controller to 150amp with the fan as well. I’m on my 2nd set of tires now and I still have the original motor.
My stock tires keep getting stuck in snow. 3" or less. Thinking bigger tires if I don't try tire track system
Im looking for bigger tires for snow. It gets stuck alot with stock tires. I also saw a tire track system im tempted to try for snow. Since a tank i built has no issue in snow just slow

this one needs a new esc and a 3s lipo battery. i got 124016 and thinking about this upgrade. lager tires but more power required. or motor can be different. or maybe a 4000KV motor only with big tires

If drives fast and hard than yes it get hot.
Did you change the pinyon from 27 teeth to 17-19?
No I kept original gears set

The 124018 is a fairly fast car out of the box but with these larger tires I bet you can hit some great top speed. I imagine it would put some extra strain on your electronics but it should rip on 3s with these massive tires.
Hi Robert, ESC is hot after one battery and fast driving, so I recommend taking a break after, unless you are driving with negative temperatures like in winter. I bought some spare ESC when one shuts off I replace it than after it cools down it’s starting to work again I put it back. 3s is not recommended as the capacitor inside the ESC is rated only up to 10v and most likely it will burn out. Stick with 2s it already so fast with those large wheels

When I put the 144001 wheels on my A959B, the wheels are very tight and don’t move freely, any idea why is that?
Your wheel hex adaptor (12mm) should be slightly thicker than wheel hub, one I ordered had no issues. Check the space between the wheel and car body ensure there not touching.
Cool video! To be clear= 144001 tires fit the A959B... does it mess up the motor/ gearing running it like that?

what type of tires are they? i just got the 124016 v2 so those should work on that just fine i would assume... they look awesome for sure...

@@dirtygerty577update? I also have the 124016 and the stock tyres have become completely worn out. I am looking for some replacement tyres like these but I just wanted to know if they put strain on the electronics and cause them to get hot.
I did it, my motor ( brushed) burn after five minutes...
Mine is brushed it gets warm after 2nd battery. Sorry to hear that

Did you have cogging? I do bad. My motor got pretty warm too
No cogging, it’s very smooth. Motor get hot but I just love those wheels. They did great in the snow and grass.

Where did you buy the tires?
I bought them on AliExpress. I added link into description. Make sure to get shorter M3 wheel nuts or you will loose your wheels when driving. See my previous video with them being installed.
