is it healthy for the bike to take off the factory exhaust and leave it with that shorty as is? im not sure if there is a pro and con when it comes to that.
I’m going to say probably not 👎🏼 the bike may have a hard time getting good exhaust scavenging with only the mid pipe which would throw off you O2 sensor reading causing lean-spots but if you were to do that but then get it tuned then I would say you should be fine

I dont know if anyone else had trouble unhooking it. But if you just remove the set screw that holds the servo wheel on. It’s super easy. Plus it only goes on one way so you can’t mess it up if you wanna reverse it
Bit of a bodge doing it on the bike but at least you got it done
Like I said it’s not the “correct” way to do it but it is possible and I said after it that, doing it the other way is probably the better option of the two you’re basically choosing which battles you want to encounter

I’ll be doing the dominator install this weekend! Then air intake mod for the restrictor plates and pair valve block off.. oh and of course ECU flash 👍

Do you need to pull it open or is it already open when the bike is off
If you’re playing with the wires it should spring open, but let’s say it’s stuck but unhooked it should open up by itself

How about the air filter? Stick to stock or race filter?
Stock as of right now! That’ll be on my next thing to do when I take out the internal air box restrictors, and velocity stacks
The spring is to hook the mid pipe to the header!
There was two I only used the one, the 2nd I found out was an extra for if you were running the factory exhaust

I have a CBR1000RR-R 2022,it has the same servo,if i get off the cables,the valve is open or is cloose?

Nice to see someone working on the CBR1000rr, SC looks good, and for the non-fireblades thanks for the video I also have a 2023. the SC sounds great side pipe always. We need more videos for this model not just the for the fireblade which nearly impossible to get. Why did you not go with a Akrapovic like on the big brother.
Got my 01 procharged and have 372whp l. I want to cam it out but not sure if I can with the stock motor. It’s rebuilt but idk if it handle it
It can definitely take cams! But probably don’t wanna go much over 450hp with stock internals have to pulley up and make less boost

Would this do anything to damage the bike if you did this long term?
It should not. I’m not a specialist by any means but the valve was only installed afterwards just to meet American emissions requirements so if anything I would say it’s helping

Pretty straight forward the only think I recommend is getting the tool for removing the rubber exhaust hangers that was a pain without one
