Fingertight - In The Name of Progress Album Review (Greatest Rock Album You've Never Heard Of?)
Переглядів 91Місяць тому
Welcome back everyone! It's the gift that keeps on giving, a new Thierry Rocks Album Review! Today we'll be discussing Fingertight's underrated album In The Name of Progress from 2003. It is a record that contains several elements of 2000s rock like Nu Metal, Post Grunge, Alt Rock, Post Hardcore and Emo in one amazing package. Perhaps it's the greatest rock album you've never even heard of? An ...
1984 - Timelessness (Unofficial Music Video)

My second fanmade music video / AMV for the film adaptation of George Orwell's 1984 with Timelessness by the industrial metal band Fear Factory from their 1998 album Obsolete. The film celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024 and I've always thought the song and album fit the bleak tone and atmosphere of the story. Note: I didn't make this video for any political reasons, it is just a mashup of ...

A quick video I shot and edited together of the 2024 Padiham Model Railway Exhibition. I made it as a bit of a test for both my new NBD DSLR digital camera and Boya USB wired microphone that I want to use in future filming projects. My usual videos will be coming real soon I've just taken a break :) I have also provided a link below to the great Burnley Film Makers club's website who made me aw...

Embrace - Out of Nothing Album Review
Переглядів 885 місяців тому
An album review that's a little different this time; my take on the post-Britpop soft alternative rock / indie rock band Embrace's 2004 album Out of Nothing, including big hits like Ashes, Gravity and A Glorious Day. A classic of the era right up there with the likes of Coldplay, Keane, Athlete and Snow Patrol! This whole genre was certainly a huge part of my childhood and music that I still en...

Breaking Benjamin - Dark Before Dawn Album Review
Переглядів 1168 місяців тому
Welcome back loyal viewers! My first album review of the year will be dedicated to Breaking Benjamin's 2015 comeback Dark Before Dawn. Is this album a good continuation even after a hiatus and a whole new lineup change? I also hope you enjoy my new editing style :) I do not own any of the music or clips in this video. They belong to their original owners. This is simply a review piece.

My first AMV of the song Someday by Ween from their 2005 compilation album Shinola Vol. 1 featuring various anime clips :) Happy Valentine's Day! This song gives me a warm fuzzy feeling that is perfect for romance :3 Note: I do NOT own this song or any of the clips used! This was made purely for entertainment purposes only.

Well here we are...my long awaited end of year video for 2023! I discuss how I personally felt about the year along with the media that released such as movies, music and anime, trends and events, and my hopes for the following year. This one was a little longer than previous years but I had a lot to discuss :)
Ween - Quebec Album Review

I dedicate my last album review of the year to the weird and wonderful rock band Ween 🤘 This video spotlights my favourite release by them, Quebec from 2003 ❤🧡💿 Apologies for the strange noise in the background, it was either the harsh weather outside or my feet shuffling on the carpet.

Yo, I found a song called The Golden Boy by Shelby (2005) recently, and it has the classic bittersweet post-Britpop sound even though the band is American. It's a perfect fit for the sunny / cold spring period, as with other songs in this style. Thought you might like to check it out.

2025 has amazing entertainment lined up- We've got the Cobra Kai finale, Karate Kid: Legends, Superman, The Fantastic Four, and John Wick: Ballerina to name a few. Plus Thierry Rocks' review of True Parallels :D. By the way, did you ever manage to get monetised on UA-cam?
I'd be interested in seeing Superman and Fantastic Four because I love the characters, but they could mess it up like Batman V Superman or God forbid Fant4stic. I am also not looking forward to that Minecraft Movie lol.
And I'm not sure how I think I have too many copyrighted videos to get monetised sadly.
@ThierryRocksTV They can't afford to screw up Superman. I think they'll do everything humanly possible to make it great. You can individually monetise your original videos, and then copyrighted ones pay the owners instead. Might as well apply if you have 4000+ watch hours. There's nothing to lose, and you might end up with a second income source, allowing you to work on things you really care about 👍.
@@PhilMcCool Sounds worth a shot, how do I check my watch hours?
@ThierryRocksTV It's in the Earn section of UA-cam Studio. (This is Phil, by the way. UA-cam shadow bans people who comment too much XD.)
It was a crazy year for sure, I feel like it was pretty good for me, hopefully things get better as time goes on, happy New year

Such an underrated album, really gives off the vibe of nu metal transitioning in emo alternative rock as the most popular rock genre at the time
It honestly should be talked about more as a historical piece in rock music trends transitioning. Maybe if they had released it a year or so later in 2004 they could've found a place to fit in? Also I'll be sure to watch any reviews of yours I missed out on :)
That's my Reddit comment about MCR XD. I also think 'Emo This' ironically sounds like MCR's 'Early Sunsets Over Monroeville'. Fingertight are probably most comparable to Trapt though, considering the blend of alt rock, emo, post-hardcore, post-grunge, and nu metal that you mentioned. Plot twist: The same artist made the album cover of Say Hello To Sunshine by Finch (a 2005 post-hardcore release). If you search for the unfolded mural, you'll definitely recognise those spiky tendrils. Great review as always. I love that people independently land on the same hidden gems when they dig deeper into the nu adjacent era.
Eww Trapt. Yeah I like some songs off their 2002 debut but their singer ruined any good faith they have 😬 He'e a horrible person.
I have only listened to What it is to Burn by Finch but I've looked at the second album cover and wow it's definitely the same artist! Reminds me of the artist who did both The Greyest of Blue Skies by F11 and TDG's 2003 debut. And I always wait for and appreciate your comments on my albums reviews :) not sure if you have any suggestions but feel free!
@ThierryRocksTV Well lately I've been listening to The Green Album plus Maladroit by Weezer, and The Beautiful Letdown by Switchfoot (featuring 'Meant To Live' from Spider-Man 2 :D). Those are definitely review worthy. By the way I found a pretty good Australian post-Britpop track called Opportunity by Motor Ace (2002).
@@PhilMcCool I disregarded Weezer for a long time but I heard Pinkerton is a good emo album. I kinda assumed they were cringe because their first song I heard was Beverly Hills which I hated lol. Some of the albums on my review pile are: Our Lady Peace - Spiritual Machines TrustCo - True Parallels Paloalto - Paloalto Air Supply - Lost in Love Athlete - Tourist Breaking Benjamin - Ember
@ThierryRocksTV Oh yeah Weezer are terrible now, but in the early 00s I saw them as being nu adjacent, with some bad-ass heavier and moodier songs like 'Take Control'. That's a solid review line-up and I look forward to hearing them all.
When you talked about what they could have been if they had released some more stuff and the label had taken a chance on them, it got me thinking. There’s no way to predict the future, but Scott wouldn’t have gotten involved with all that shit and we could have had some amazing music. It’s really sad to think about it, they could have been huge! I discovered them in 2005 through the song Guilt at Nascar. While my friends had a PS2, I had just gotten a PS1, along with some games, and Nascar came along with it. It’s funny to think, if I hadn’t played, I probably would never have discovered them. Daily i listen they on Spotify & sometimes I come to UA-cam to listen to Satori, About You, and others that are on the sawyer985 channel. I loved your video bro, it made my eyes light up to see someone talking about them. Cheers from Brasil. 🤖🎤
I also confess that I saw this comment about My Chemical Romance hours ago before come here on UA-cam & found your video. ...and looked for photos but nothing super relevant, just a few on Flickr. What a curse, they could have stayed together for at least another five years to have more material. 🙇🏻
I appreciate your wonderful comment about your story with finding this amazing band, thank you! 🤖💖
Amazing mate

I was diagnosed with this disease. Does it cause permanent blindness?
It's not a disease it's a disorder. And I'm not sure if it might happen later in life.
The funny thing about this video is that a lot of people who settled Virginia originally came from northern England so it’s possible that Chris’s family could be from Northern England.
WTH WAS This?!

Really interesting, would be great to load up those save games.. See what made them quit, on their final save 😂😂
How do you keep them from fading?

Hi, friend! I saw your old videos where you reviewed Puppet master figures. Are there any new ones in the collection? And what about your puppets now?)
I didn’t know how bad my vision problem was until I took a genetic test.
when the kid said le petite asshole i laughed my ass off
Can you make a welsh version
It's sad the new ticket stubs are just receipts that fade quickly. Now your even lucky if you get a ticket cause it's all digital:(. I started collecting mine in 2010 when I was a freshman/sophomore. All my favorite movies were in 2009🙄 so much regret for not starting one year earlier! Haha my oldest ticket is The Prince of Persia lol. But I was flipping through my booklet and I got some good ones. I was pissed our theater doesn't do ticket stubs anymore because I missed getting a Beetlejuice ticket !😒
This video is a couple years old but I could make a part 2 if you wanted :) I have gotten loads more since then and I might even release it in 2025.
@@ThierryRocksTV Definitely make another video.
This video has me dying 😂
Ok Computer is my personal favourite segment 😂💻
I never listened to radiohead or watched angry grandpa so this is just nonsense to me
Good
Both are worth getting into.
Pablo Honey - Acoustic focused / Everyone Can Play Guitar The Bends - Sad and emotional / bald AGP looks like the album cover OKC - Computers Bad Kid A - Bleeps and bloops Amnesiac - Weird sounding / "funky" HTTT - Politically focused / George W Busn In Rainbows - Happy and uplifting TKOL - Boring waste of time / trees AMSP - Slow and depressing / "I give up"
