The reason I suck at painting, especially NMM and layering, is because when I try something I get to the partway point where it is a bunch of blobs and scratches and convince myself that it's horrible and scrap what I'm doing. This is the type of video I need to watch more often.

Step one: cover the Kreigsman in darkness

I do that same thing but I mix in a little bit of airbrush medium to make the pigment a little bit more transparent. Then I use a dry brush and kind of just stipple off all the extras on any flat parts. I use this on my iron warriors. With my eldar I mix a gloss in with the contrast so the recesses are still a little bit darker but it has that glossy finish

Could you have not just painted the hair yellow to begin with then add the red wash over top?

Can I use nun oil to thin paints and make them darker ? And then use the unthined paints to highlight ?

Sadly you can't build the aquilon squad as advertised. They are missing a pistol (component a10) so you can either build the Gunfighter or the Tempestor, but not both. (Yes, you can use the pointy hand and modify a shoulderpad, but then you risk running into problems if the tournament/player is strict on wysiwyg)
