We left Sultan Wa June 27th headed to Coeur d’Alene ID. We left on the 29th from there and we went to Bozeman MT. On the 30th we went to Rapid City SD. That’s a lot of miles and some of these rv parks while really nice, they can get pricey. Glad to be at our good friends property for a bit.
A tour through Cascades RV Resort

The Cascade RV resort is at the base of the Cascade Mountain range just outside Seattle. We stayed here for about a month, and we really liked it. It’s a great location, you aren’t very far from so many outdoor activities. This area gets a bit more rain than the Seattle area and US Rt 2 can be very busy on weekends, but if you can accept that, you will enjoy this place immensely.
A hike on Wallace falls trail

We arrived on a Friday afternoon, fortunately it wasn’t as busy as we expected. However, it’s still pretty busy, we met plenty of hikers coming down. The crackling of the power lines at the start made me second guess it all, but once we were in the canopy of the trees, it was a great shaded hike.
A sea glass hunt

A Bavarian tourist town in Washington

After the sawmills started closing down in the 50’s and 60’s, the townspeople decided to make their town into a Bavarian themed tourist destination. They did much of the architecture in the way of a German alpine village. If you get a chance, it’s worth a visit.
A nice weekend

The weekend included lots of riding time and we got to meet Chey’s prospective in laws. Wonderful people! We also made our way to the Kayak Disc Golf Resort. We will definitely go back soon, it’s such an amazing course built over an old golf course.

We decided to just take the bike up to Stevens pass and see what was up there. What a wonderful ride! We will definitely head that way again before our time is up here in Sultan. We saw several trailheads and will be back to hike some of them hopefully soon. We stopped at Deception Point and walked around a bit, we could’ve spent all day there. Washington is definitely a beautiful state.

Spring Creek Canyon Trail

Tabitha found us a trail to explore near Kanarra Falls Utah. It was a little over 5 miles in and out, and an elevation of almost 800 ft from start to the turnaround. Most importantly it’s dog friendly so we were able to bring Freya. It was not too hard to walk, a few places were moderately tricky. Horses are used on this trail so if they can do it, so can you. We decided we wanted to make something different w the ground bison meat we had. Since I’m avoiding bred for the most part, we decided to use tortilla shells. This worked great, tasted even better!

We spent some time at the Grand Canyon, just absorbing the natural and spectacular beauty of this place. I’m in awe every time I see it. Which is twice now. lol.

This is a nice little park right outside Williams. There are several trails and the one we took was the clover spring trail. Nice scenery and well worn paths, could be ankle twisters if your aren’t watching your step.

Ive traveled along I90 thru Coeur d'Alene and Bozeman on the way to my home town in Coos Bay many times! Ive also lived just south of Bozeman for 2 years, some great hot springs in that area! Some of the best scenery yet!! Thank you for sharing your journey. Its fun watching it through someone else's eyes!
