    Other great piece. Really enjoyed the text on this. Mycelium is fascinating stuff, like it's connecting everything in forests from below the ground. Is this like the man connecting with nature? There's a strange fact that we're more closely related to fungi that fungi is related to plants, or something like that in the evolutionary tree. Liked 🙂

    Another work of art - I feel like that chap sometimes! 😏 I reckon you probably have some underlying meaning behind your work, if so you ought to put it down in the comments, it would be interesting. Or maybe some music or narration that works with it? tbh you should fill your text up (the area under the video) with all sorts of key words and phrases. I'm sure there would be plenty of peeps well impressed by this by they aren't seeing it come up on searches, keywords/phrases can work really well - liked 🙂

      I think that the meanings come out as the series of images get generated. Parts of the prompts that I use to generate the images are in the titles of the videos, I just iterate hundreds of them. The meanings can shift as the AI interjects itself into the series and I prod it in one direction or another. The videos that have "the first" and "the second" in the names most likely came from the same original prompt, but then I encouraged one fork in the series for a while, then came back to another one for a bit. I do need to put more effort into the descriptions. Thank you for encouraging me in that direction. :-)

      @@jasonherbst That's superb! You have a good way with words too, it was an encapsulating read, really helps to understand the video! OK a couple of other points (sorry to nag but it seems a huge shame more people aren't seeing your work). Type into a YT search what ever you would type in expecting to see your video. I don't know AI well but say, something like 'Surreal AI' 'Hyperreal AI' or whatever, try various things. You'll find videos with 1000s to Millions of views and some aren't up to your standard (which is always annoying!!). Open the videos with the most views and check out their description, look for buzz phrases that could relate to your style of video and put them in text in your description, maybe at the bottom of the page. If you right click off video and 'open page source' and then 'control F' for search, type in 'keywords' there will be a line with their keywords. That's mainly what YT is checking on searches (their algorhythms do a bunch of other stuff too but keywords are key!). Copy any appropriate keyword into your text, mix it in with your description or just put as a list at the bottom of the page. Do that to a few best viewed videos that best fit what you are doing. Also hashtag the best words, but I've read YT doesn't like you to have more than about 10 hashtags in the text. Also the title is important in the searches too. See what others do but maybe put something in there that somehow says what the video is, a keyword or two, YT links that. Us smaller channels can do well on YT, it will give us reach, but we need to find a niche and maybe angle it somehow that isn't that mainstream but you know people will like or are new trends and (you do this anyway atm) keep you channel focused on the same thing. YT wants to be clear what your channel is doing. Like I post animation/fractals/VR. If I then posted a video of me, say, walking my dog, the YT algorhythms will get all confused and reduce how it links my work to searches. There a lot of BS out there but some videos on how to grow your channel are useful. VidIQ is pretty good. The sad thing is it's mostly geared for 'influencers' that don't really do anything creative and are just making content just chasing views and subs (to ultimately chase fame or make money I think). but there are useful setting up tips in there. My stance is we spend hours/days/weeks making our art, let's do a little bit extra to give it the best chance of being seen.

      @@jasonherbst Your extra verbiage is fantastic, as said before, you have a great way with words, it's very poetic. Now, it's not for me to tell you how to present your videos, you may want your own unique style but if you don't mind my option (ignore it by all means but here it is). A silent video of much the same thing for 30 mins is quite hard work to stick with however amazing your images are (and your images are amazing!!), If I wanted a transcendental moment it would work brilliantly but otherwise you might lose viewer's interest after a minute of so or less. I would put in some sort of subtle appropriate mood background sound track in there but I would actually have those fantastic poetics words, and more like that, softly spoken as the video plays. Tell me who this person is, what's her story! You may think that is cheesey but I would enjoy it far more like that and I think others would too, it would hold you as a viewer and help you enjoy the incredible artistic imagery you make much more. There are masses of people out there that like well worded story telling, and your art and your words are both excellent and very engaging. If you hold people to watch more of your video (retention time) YT sees that and promotes your video much more (known as 'reach' in analytics) - long video watched = more advertising space! You can get some great AI voice makers/narration from text input as I'm sure you'll know. I think it would be incredibly powerful. Just a thought though! Remember me when you are famous! 😄

      @@jasonherbst Thank you, that's kind - well I use textures on all the animation and fractals I use and for objects in the animations I have shaders (or grouped as materials) and they are seamless (like a square that you can repeat) and they can then have bump maps or normals to give a 3D effect/active shadows. Not sure how universal textures are but I think I can use any texture on items. A lot of my textures are different res too - 4k def is working close up but lesser res if further away and it makes the model render quicker. I'm always interested in improving my library though!

    Stunning orchids! They look so good! Actually, you know that offer of using some of your images, well these have inspired me and I'd quite like to take you up on that if still ok (no worries if not). I'm almost finished a 360 deg relaxation video. It has 4 animated natural environments but I have this idea off transitioning between them with a mass of flowers that come and go, over about 30 secs. I've done one with roses and little fairies flying about, and was going to just repeat each time but these are awesome, although I'd have to think how I'd convert to 360 degrees. I would cut around individual flowers and layer them up together. I'd obvious give credit and link to this video on mine. But totally understand if you really like them and what them unique to you, as they do look very special and unique.

      @@jasonherbst cool, great stuff, thank you. I'm just working on my next video atm (a silly one about dinosaurs!) and it's almost done. Once that's out I'll focus on this. As said it's in 360 so need to think how to do it. I might have your orchids more on the horizontal and make some other 360 vegetation sat behind it that covers over and fills in the top and bottom (it needs to be stretched in a certain way for 360). The morphs you made are very tempting to try and use but maybe a step to far for me to incorporate here but isolating induvial whole flowers should be ok to do and use 🙂

    Wowser that's an epic townscape! I like it. I know it's AI but you must have put a lot of work into the sheer number of images and keeping them all so similar, very well crafted as well. A flythrough of an environment like that would be epic but I guess AI can only go so far with it and you lose some definition and weird morphs start happening?

    • @jasonherbst
      @jasonherbst 3 місяці тому

      A flythrough would be awesome! Midjourney allows me to encourage the images in certain directions and alter them within certain parameters per generation, so I end up "pushing" or "encouraging" certain images that I like and not so much with the ones that I don't like. It can be quite a process. :-)

    They are a great set of images. There great clatrity there, did it come straight out of the siftware like that or did you upres it? I like how you made them similar and morphed between them. I'd love to get models like that in my animation videos. I use fractals and animated figures as I can fully control these for the short films/stories I do but I'm sure it won't be too long before you'll be able to do the same with AI creations. That would be wild, fully animating the creature you made there! Anyway, love supporting fellow surreal/creative artists, so have liked and subbed you. Look forward to more 👍

    • @jasonherbst
      @jasonherbst 3 місяці тому

      Thank you so much for the kind words! These images are all straight out of Midjourney, the video was edited with Davinci Resolve. I've just now seen a little of your work (and will watch more after work today); I really like surrealism. Here's my humble attempt at some surrealism via AI: ua-cam.com/video/u2pdgXlBe2E/v-deo.htmlsi=7ofjNa24hqAWE0Fc I had sized those images with an aspect ratio better suited for printing since I had that in mind when generating them. One of the things that I like about using Midjourney is the random/unexpected nature of what comes out of it. Once I get to an image that I like, I just coax the AI in that direction, hence the similarity. And the similarity helps with the video transitions. If you'd like to use some of the images in my videos for making models (or other creative ways), please let me know and I can send you some files. I subbed and liked as well; thank you for the support, I'm just getting going and it helps! Have a great rest of your day and I'll be checking more of your work out soon! 🙂

      @@jasonherbst hiya - first thanks for the like/sub. I'd have liked/subbed your page whatever but it really helps our algorhythms to swap subs (as does posting comments and likes). Just checked out your Bosch video, that freakin' awesome. I'm a big fan of Bosch and you have captured his feel perfectly, love it! I found your page as I was just looking at my home page wall on YT and your skinny Mojo image leapt straight out at me! It was so like the sort of things I would doodle with my art years ago, before computer art - we might be on a similar creative wavelength here! I've had a dabble with AI (I spend most of my time with animation and fractals, and it is very time consuming!) and had a lot of fun but struggled to get two images consistent, so they could follow on, but you seem to have mastered that skill. However AI software seems to be advancing every month so you've inspired me to have a play again. I target making short films (hoping to move into animation film making) and so I can't (as yet at least) use an AI figure, no where near enough precise control of everything like I have in 3D animation to make a video, but I'm thinking I might start experimenting with some wild AI background/landscapes and blend my animation into it (which is what I have to do with the fractals). So thank you so much for the kind offer to use your images but I'm not a 3D model maker (there's only so much one can learn and do with your time). I can transform models I have a fair bit but not to that degree. Look forward to more of your creation!
