@@KialayaKreations thank you so much for the suggestion, I haven't tried gesso but I have tried a primer (maybe they are the same thing?) and it does make a difference indeed! :)

@@minihappyart I am not sure they are the same even if they seem like the do the same function. It might even be fun for you to try them both on the same frame and see the difference. You can get small tubes of gesso to try out. I use Prima Marketing Finnabair's gesso but there are plenty from different brands around.

I use balsa wood and cut it with an exacto knife and other kinds of wood like chopsticks - I either use a saw or an exacto knife to cut them, sometimes an angle cutter like mitre shears as well!

it would be more or less 1/12 scale, width 17-18 cm and depth around 6-6.3 cm :) I didn't really measure individual pieces, just made sure the overall measurements were correct!
