That's a nice arrangement. One of my all time favorite songs. I also like the way Clapton played it live in the 70s which I believe is recorded on Timepieces.
Super cool. Ive always loved that song. Im going to work on it
Very nice my man
You have a nice voice. I’ll have to tinker with this. Thanks!
why?
Thank you!
Good on you, brother!
Interesting. I still no have a Mandolin, I see one in the Market, (Ibanez F) but in the same time I buy a SITAR - WHICH I SEE IN THE BACK OF YOUR PHOTO. So - at least, may I buy a Mandolin too
@@mes252 I hear you. I just ordered a mandola so I will be learning two instruments at the same time. Keeps one very busy 😅 sitar much harder
I bought ibanez . it sounds damn good . not a good as my kentucky but a good s my liar.
Hi Corky , I ,m trying to learn the riffs and licks from days like this the Owen Campbell version ua-cam.com/video/avRBiOz6EnE/v-deo.htmlsi=qCyRdNacTtrm7PyR could you help out ? make a video on it ? thanks a ton!!
Maybe it was..
I thought he was a realist, not truem,
Hello. New subscriber here. Saw your #playmusicontheporch video (Big Yellow Taxi) that they shared on their Facebook page. Loved it. Found your channel and I look forward to exploring your other videos. I'm a beginner player who is in his late 60's now. Live in North Carolina.
I was raised in Greensboro
Greetings and hallucinations back at you. Fired up to be taking part again in this great activity. We’re coming at you from Gloucester, Massachusetts
@@SunnyFishcakes all right. I used to live in Newport Rhode Island. Play on!
Yes sir. That man put in the time and It hears like it. Thanks for sharing your talent. It enlightened me and my 8 string
Obviously there is a second pass to the intro i did not teach
Thanks corky very much great lesson
@@pfrancz thanks for watching
This is a good lesson. Thank you for demonstrating the 2 other keys. 🎶
I just got the squier debut tele, not avail in U.S. It was pretty damn good, But I just did a review on Tease Tele and my good it is worth 3x the price. The affordable range of name and "no"-name brands seem like they are doing battle.
Great demo/ lesson, thank you. 🌌🌅🌠🕊👍🏻
I agree with you on both accounts.
Great video! I agree with your philosophy, (I own 4 Epiphones and they're great guitars), and I love that you know how to demonstrate the sound of a guitar. We hear what it really sounds like, not what it sounds like after it goes through a computer and comes out sounding like every other guitar that person runs through their computer. 🙄 I also love that the Jack Casady UA-cam shows is David's dad, not Jorma's bandmate. 😂
Not discounting what you are saying but the 60's Epis were made in the Gibson factory and cost just as much as Gibsons Some models like the Casino and Texan were their own thing and did not have a Gibson equivalent
Even Mike Rutherford of Genesis toured for a while with a Squier....and yes the Beatles and many others used the Epiphone Casino. Affordable instruments. I could care less about the name on the headstock...I don't buy instruments to resell them. If it feels good, plays well, frets aren't sharp and it's not heavy, and affordable, then by all means....enjoy the hell out of it !
Epi and Squier is all I have! Gibson and Fender just plain cost too much.
I play my Epi LP Special more than my Fender Am Std Tele or my G&L George Fullerton Strat, it is that good of a guitar. Gotta love P-90 pickups.
Pearl Jam exploited this E scaling alot
Love it!
Lookin good Corky. Soundin good too! Keep at it man, you're doing great.
@@joekyleboston thx friend
If a Squier Affinity is good enough for Jack Pearson, it's good enough for me.
@@danherring5676 ain’t it the truth?
Squires are great, Epiphones have really fallen off. I have a 94 les Paul which is great, I recently picked up a les Paul Jr and it was unplayable. The neck was so screwed up.
I have a Epiphone SG with Gibson pickups and I dont want it to be a Gibson
It's not that the squire or at the phone or no good because they are pretty decent but I'm looking at the resale value they don't increase in value like the Gibson or the real Fender like I have a 65 Fender Stratocaster mint condition is worth $18,000 I only paid like $275 when it was new so you do the math can a squire increase in value of course not so it's an investment that you make
Those gains possibly won't continue. And certainly won't for new fenders and gibsons bought today.
Wow that's awesome. I recently visited Sturgis (not during the rally) and spent about a week seeing the sites. One day I just rode on my motorcycle out of town and rode by Bear Butte just like you did. I didn't know what it was either at the time. I didn't stop but I felt a strong pull to go. I regret now not visiting after finding out about it like you did afterwards. I will definitely go on my next trip. It's been on my mind a lot wishing I would have went.
Thanks Corky, I needed to be reminded how to play this song.
@@larryflanagan8799 thanks so much for watching
I picked up a 12-year old Epiphone Dot recently. It was owned by someone who was more of a collector than a player because it still had the protective plastic covering the pickups and gaurd. Even better, after 12 years, the wood has completely dried and is perfectly stable. I had never played a semi-hollow before, and now wish someone had turned me on to them when I was a younger player. Beautiful, singing tone from what is basically a budget instrument. It is what it is... and what it is, is a great guitar.
I got the Epiphone Les Paul and I would never underestimate it.
Love my Squires!
The Epiphones made in Kalamazoo Michigan are not the same class as the Epiphones made in Asia. The Kalamazoo Epiphones were essentially Gibsons. Squiers are a good guitar for the money.
It’s all in the setup. If you really know how to carve a nut, set the truss rod properly and know how to set intonation and string height properly - any guitar can play well. That one guy Jack Pearson plays a $100 used Squier and he used to play with the Allman Brothers. But I’m sure his guitar tech adjusted it well.
I thought that was Jerry Garcia back from the great beyond 😮
i have never ever seen anybody else on the internet or in real life know PFR. i grew up listening to them all the time.
Mitchell are pretty good budget guitars too
Forget Squire, look up Harley Benton.
I agree. Harley Benton builds some great instruments. In all honesty though, they're not there just yet. My experience with HB has shown me that their materials still leave something to be desired. Specifically, soft frets.
I have a butter scotch classic Vibe telecaster with a maple fretboard… I paid $349 for it, and it looks great and sounds great.
That's all I ever had.
Thanks, looks like a cool tuning to try out.
I've never had a Squier or an Epiphone, but got an Player Strat (MIM) a few years ago and absolutely great guitar. Definitely good enough to gig and record, put that through a decent amp and you'd struggle to hear the difference between that and an American made Strat. Alot of it is guitar snobbery and good marketing, but cheaper guitars are great and you avoid the law of diminishing returns. Upgrading any budget guitar (if even necessary) just needs a good amp and upgraded pickups in most cases.
@@Guitar-v7n i have same strat MIM are great thx for watching
Awesome! Great Vid! I ditched the long fingernails when I worked for a connivence store...Long fingernails don't work with coolers! Love Chet Leo Kottke and John Fahey...love the tuning!!
@@210078 I don’t know if I confused everybody, but I don’t grow long fingernails except for my little finger for sitar playing. I just use fingers and then I use a flat pick. What I meant to say was that when you use just your fingers if you need a little pick action, you can use your regular nails
Sounds great. In a way it reminds me of the song 'Vincent' by Don McLean * 🎶
