I'm bothered by what seems the Pope's faulted statement, that what read as his condemnation of HOMOSEXUAL ACTIONS somehow equates with BEING gay, which is not the Chrud's talking point. He effectively said that being GAY itself is an intrinsic "sin", rather than ACTING on it what we know all-too-well is the REAL POSITION on homosexuality. So, if anyone here has a chance, fill him in on that stumble~! (Sarcasm.)

If i understand it right, this is the main, major account of Dignity, the nationwide LG* group. It breaks my heart to see there are less than 700 subscribers. I wonder if LGBT+ Catholics, gay guys like me, have just given up the cause, an ethical battle we seem to not ever likely win. What's reassuring, and to the organization? Our advocacy and being out and inclusion-advocating HAS moved the needle towards our end. I guess it's best to now think of the pro-LGBT+ advocacy and existence IS working, so that long-game is one to keep pitching for. It's worth mentioning that my own experience as a Catholic teen in a Jesuit prep school was shockingly affirming, and this was back in the 80s, and during the height of the AIDS crisis. The prb i think we all know, whether we're talking about racism, sexism or homophobia or other forms of hate, is that change come from those committing the wrong, not really from those experiencing it. And like racism or sexism, it's the responsibility and expectation for them to change their behavior, not those dealing with it. I wish you well. I attended an open and strongly-affirming Methodist church's Christmas ceremonies, and I'm not sure I'm ever going back.

It's unfortunate that you keep talking about "your truth" when you openly reject "the truth". The Church doesn't turn people away but rather welcomes all people as persons in whom there is inherent value and dignity. If you disagree with the Church's teachings, you may want to learn why you're in error instead.

If you wish to become a drug addict, alcoholic, or suicidal stay with the church by all means. I was born with an untreatable form of schizophrenia and am barred from being recognized as a full complete human being by the churches due to having a deformed face plus the schizophrenia. We hope and pray that the church of Jesus, the Catholic church in which we were raised, would continue to acknowledge a God who in Genesis let us know that all of us are created in the image and likeness of God. We chose as a couple to adopt and raise four sons, and we continue to give our lives for them. June is the month of the Sacred Heart (which if you were Catholic you would know). This is disgraceful to put it mildly. Thank you for posting this valuable source of information regarding the up-coming election. I do not recall receiving notice of this Zoom gathering. An observation, a piece I would have like to have heard about is raising the visibility of spirituality, nurturing the spirituality of the LGBT+ person. From my experience, there is a spiritual quality of being a non-binary person. Promoting, as well as advocarting for a place of the LGBTQ+ person within society and the greater church is no small challenge. I wonder, cannot action grow out of our spiritual nature? A second consideration comes from my own observations. Young adults, from a number of quarters of "church," are eschewing religious institutions, choosing to identify as "None" when it comes to the question of religious affiliation. The presence of young adults in a faith community's is a larger concern, whether non-binary or straight. Perhaps because of our distance from the institutional church, it can be an opportunity of invitation and, at the least, engagement with this unique population. I offer these reflections for consideration.

I hope you will seek out the Catholic Bishop or a Catholic priest in your area to have this conservation with him.
