I bought a bootlegged CD of this recording back in 1994. It was recorded from vinyl, so you could hear the random pops and clicks that were inherent in vinyl recordings. This version has been cleaned up substantially. Sounds good!

I was at this concert and The Smiths were terribly below par apart from this song, How Soon is Now and another one I can't remember. Unfortunate it was on this occasion they were recorded for the radio.

Ironically, though this is a cover version, it is about as The The as you can get.

It doesn’t have any of the bite or snarl of Dylan. Dylan’s voice could convey so much passion and venom. Marr’s version just drones on and on and on. The waltzing guitar is nice as you’d expect.

The waltz is like please please let me get what I want
