Ugh. These questions are loaded with a buzzword that doesn't mean anything. "Equity"... Our son has Level 3 Autism and is in teacher H-'s class this year. His previous teachers (at Earl Boyles) created private FB groups or, last year his teacher used the SeeSaw app (though I think a lot of that was due to COVID aftermath. It's been a long 2 1/2 years.) Nothing like that this year, and I'm very disappointed and frustrated. We literally can't ask him how his day was, what he's been learning, etc. because he's non/low-verbal. He has outside therapists who ask us how he's doing in school and it's like "I dunno. We haven't gotten any calls so... good?" We had a very positive experience at the first school social event, but we don't really know how he's progressing day-to-day/week to week, etc. I know they must have a lot on their hands, and I get that, but it makes it hard to tell how he's keeping up...

What sort of data will be collected and how will it be protected by the district? Who decided to implement tracking our students and how will this be used in other ways in the future?

He's saying nothing about educating kids. His focus is on 'diversity and inclusion'. I'll bet he thinks that testing is racist. Me: "How do you plan to raise test scores?" Doug: "By making sure every student has equal outcomes." What a putz. Get your kids out of this school district and into one that doesn't do social experimentation on your kids. This is sickening.

If you went here as a student within the past few years, would you say it's a good place for students? I've heard it's a horrible school and the majority of students hate it there?

i love David Douglas. I was welcomed since changed school districts. I am always welcomed everywhere at David Douglas high school. As a senior i grown so much,and the staff supported me even though i have a few disabilities, they didn't care i have them if i had disability in the first place. They make fell like i am a part of their family.
