Video shows how Wanda makes her grab-n-go breakfast for deer hunting. She makes breakfast burritos or breakfast bowls and stores them in the freezer for deer season. (Yes, we still have a lot of deer season left in Missouri!)
Recipe:
18 eggs; whisked well with wire whisk and scrambled
1 1/2 lb diced bacon; cooked and drained well (or sausage/bacon combo)
3 medium potatoes; peeled, washed and cubed, then fried till done
Vegetables sauteed in 2 Tbsp. butter;
1 c. diced bell pepper
3 stalks diced celery
8 oz fresh mushrooms, cleaned and diced
2 c. shredded cheese ( I use mild to medium cheddar)
Once everything is cooled, mix all together in large pan or bowl. Fill wraps for burritos or small bowls with mixture, wrap well and place in freezer bags. I pack 6 burritos to 1, 1 gal. freezer bag. Place in freezer for future use. Remove from freezer the night before you wish to enjoy. Microwave for 1 - 2 minutes (depending on microwave and if frozen or thawed).
Makes about 18 burritos, more if you don't stuff as much.

Can chopped ham be added?
Yes, but when you add meat you need to process in pressure canner for 90 minutes.
Have you tried the soups yet?
Oh yes...I need to make and can more! We are completely out. It was very good!
@@JimmyBranchHomestead great. That will give me another complete meal on the shelf. I do mostly individual veggies I raise or store bought meats that are on sale.
Pressure canning is just dangerous for me. I’m sticking with the Amish😂, they know how to grow food, build barns and can. Simple, beautiful and effective.
I have several very detailed videos on canning meats, etc. by pressure canning. Check them out...hopefully it will give you more confidence.
Chicken soup time is less than 90 mins 60 for pints and 75 for quarts. Nice video.😊
Thanks for the tip!
Hi, I just asked for card at Harps today ❤
Good grief. Who makes a cooking video dressed like a filthy slob. Disgusting......
Looks great
Thanks! He has eaten most of them already! I will be posting another grab-n-go make ahead breakfast tomorrow.
I saved the recipe. Looking forward to trying it. Thanks
Wonderful! I am posting another grab-n-go make ahead breakfast on Tuesday (tomorrow). It will be for breakfast burritos or breakfast bowls (same recipe except the wraps).
Great job, I need to do mine too!
You can do it!
Ty
You are very welcome! I will be posting another grab-n-go make ahead breakfast tomorrow (Tuesday).
We still have many days left to deer hunt here in Missouri...
Hey can you put this in ur clothes while you wash them to get rid of mites
You have to do it using this method first and let the clothes dry. then it will keep them off, even normally washing your clothes. It works for several months.
Good morning! 😊 watched your video and canned the soup. It was delicious. I also ordered the Amish Canning book. Thanks!!
Wonderful! I've run out of my soups since I've been canning / preserving up the garden and 2 1/2 bushels of apples. I need to get busy and make more!
@@JimmyBranchHomestead nothing better than homemade - home canned soup! Starting in on 70lbs of apples tomorrow.
Gal... U gotta go to the Dr. For that cough.🙏🙏🙏
It's bad asthma... :(
Hi, new subscriber here! Soup looks delicious! I made some a few weeks ago.
Thanks for subbing! I hope you enjoy!
I’m glad to come across your channel. I was thinking of doing the same thing. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome to our channel, and thanks for watching!
I made your potatoe bread, delicious my loaf and rolls were delicious, soft and fluffy,.Thank you so much, This a keeper❤
Glad you liked it!!
make a green tomatoe pie
I'll have to try that!
Your recipe posted calls for 31/2cups of flour but you put in 4 cups. Which is the right amount?
I adjusted the recipe to the 3 1/2 cups. When I put in 4 cups, it raises and sticks top the top. Good catch!
Ty!
You're very welcome!
Could I use rice milk instead?
I've never tried it, but seems like it would work.
Thank you for teaching us how to make soup
My pleasure 😊 Thanks for watching!
My daughter is gluten free, can I use gluten free flour or cornstarch to thicken the soup
Yes you can! I just can't have cornstarch, so I use flour.
Oops just heard you say you did not remove skins or seeds
You can remove the skins if you prefer, but I just use the immersion blender and blend them all up.
Did you remove the seeds from the tomatoes?
Ty!
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching
When you put the tomatoes in the pot, did you remove any seeds or skin
That is wonderful harvest, nice job
Thank you kindly
If canned chicken noodle soup is dangerous, why is it sold to us in grocery stores?
Hmm, it's not dangerous if the "recommendations" are followed.
I've been looking for an apple pie filling to try. Thank you so much for posting this video. I can't wait to give it a try and make my holiday preps this year, just a bit easier.
Enjoy! Thanks for watching...
Water bathing for 3 hours is no better than 3 minutes. Its about temp not time. Amish or not this is very unsafe!!!! You don't understand the science!
I respect your beliefs. The Amish have been water bath canning only for over a hundred years. If I didn't feel it was safe, I wouldn't do it. Also, when I was growing up there were "recommended" timetables for both pressure canning and water bathing. I don't believe that things can be fine and then all of a sudden be not fine. If you choose to only follow the US recommendations that is fine. I try to indicate when I am filming which are the approved methods and which are not, so that viewers can decide for themselves.
When I have to ladle a liquid like you're doing with the broth, I have found it's helpful to hold a small saucer under the ladle with my free hand. I'm messy and need all the help I can get 😂
That's a great idea!
Love that idea! I have been canning for 50 years and never thought of doing that. Thank you so very much!❤
@@Jan9207 I'm glad to help, Jan! I use that same saucer as a spoon rest for the ladle when I put it down. I'm always trying to make less mess because I'm also the cleaning lady! 😂
@@marilyncausey9348 yes, I’m the cleaning lady at this house too! I can’t stand a messy workstation, and I don’t understand why I never thought of this idea😂
Honey, if the Amish have been doing it over 100 years, it's not rebel canning; it's Heritage Canning 😊
I like that! Thank you, and thanks for watching!
Enjoy the last few vids, the elderberries and now this is awesome one, thanks for sharing these tips, recipes
Thank you my faithful viewer!
What pretty pepper jelly !!Thanks so much, Wanda. I needed a refresher before I make mine.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Good video, thanks for including the dimensions
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Ty!
Is this soup OK to pressure can?
I haven't found anything that says it is safe to can, so I freeze it in 1 qt containers.
Nice job Thanks for sharing. Water bath for the win lol.
Thanks for watching!
You have such a neat and tidy garden, it’s wonderful! I wish you a happy time gardening. 😊
Thank you so much 😊
Yes, it's that time of year to clean up.. I am doing mine little by little..new friend here.
Thanks for watching!
Am I okay with water bath canning my CK n rice soup for 10 minutes....I live in Phoenix valley?
I don't think so. You have to go by your altitude and recommendations, but chicken has to pressure can for 90 minutes normally for qts, and 75 minutes for pints.
Looks great now
Thank you!
I just used this on my home. It worked great the only thing I found was the spray didn’t get high enough ..until i pulled the red tab from inside the sprayer before I attached the hose that allowed for me to reach higher up
Thanks for sharing!
FYI Thank you for the video altough I tried your recipe and I proof my yeast first and I do not ever use quick or bread machine yeast. By proofing my yeast with active dry yeast. I get a much better loaf of bread and I did bake mine in the oven as I like the 2 lb loaf pan shape.
Sounds great!
Thanks!
Welcome!
Would liked to have seen the finished product.
I apologize for that. I usually do but had a brain fart.
I love cabbage anyway! Thanks for your recipe, looks delicious.
Enjoy!
Used this on siding on my garage to take off algae. Worked great!
Thanks for sharing!
