    Im sure it can be a stressful job. Cops have to deal with a lot. I just want them to truly protect and serve, keep their egos in check and treat ppl with compassion. They need more emphasis on those things too.

    @venomkiler1 Рік тому

    yes it is a trauma response. if you have had dozens of black kids pull guns on you during your career constantly, how will you react the next time you pull over a black kid? even if they are good, innocent people? this same thing applies to cops and white people when they look like felons. with face tattoos and all that

    I had to do something similar as part of military training for seabees, they had us in front of a screen with a scenario playing and we had to gauge the situation in a literal split second (AE bring our rifles up, switch off safe, and HIT THE TARGET) and it was so difficult to watch what was going on and determine properly when to fire. It's definitely not an easy thing to do. None of us were crying at the end tho...

  • @deltoid77-nick
    @deltoid77-nick Рік тому

    Yeah just being under the stress people have a hard time gauging somebody's emotional situation and are easily confused and with people having too many false positives about racism nowadays everything now is racism so look at this neat little hole we've all dug ourselves into

    Required law degree may be not to the point of being a lawyer but an understanding of the law to the point that ignorance is no longer an excuse that can be made when cops make up laws to mess with people.

    • @ronallens6204
      @ronallens6204 Рік тому

      Alot of depts now require s 2 yr degree to even apply. Tx rangers had that requirement back in the 70s. A bs in law may help but not likely... its case law that changes every year that is hard to keep ip with. My problem with cops is they are being trained to entrap people to meet a quota. The politicians need the extra money

    Different cops for different situations. Every cop is expected to be able to perform every Duty.... what other profession requires you to be able to do it all?? Some cops are better at de-escalation add some cops are more violent. You shouldn't have the violent assholes doing traffic stops and the nice cops serving warrants. Also I think police officers should stay at the station until people call for help as to them driving around looking for trouble all day.... I don't see fire trucks driving around looking for fires LOL. If you're driving around all day looking for trouble eventually you're going to find it or create it yourself just out of boredom

    There are good cops out there people, like everywhere you go in life there are good and bad. What needs to happen is more rigorous physical training for cops. Being unfit as a cop has so much potential to go wrong from not being able to physically handle the situation to the mental state of an officer that’s not healthy
