I use Pallmann finish professionally and this process looks like a big pain, I think it would be faster and better just to buff and recoat.

The gecko is a neat little machine and works great when it is working. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, though. I looked up a lot of reviews before buying it, and for the most part, they were great. But then I bought it. Used it for about 4-5 feet of the wall, and the motor started smoking. Shipped it back, pallmann replaced the motor, and sent it back to me. It worked for about 12 hours of run time at best, and in that time, the nut for the bolt on paper stripped, then the bolt that held the wheel the belt ran on snapped which I'm not surprised since it is a very thin bolt to hold the wheel I don't know why they would put such a small bolt for that. I bought the edger about 11 months ago and as I said I only have about 12 hours of run time on it. Pallmann has had it the rest of the time fixing it. Likely waiting for parts which seems like parts for anything is extremely hard to get your hands on these days, but they haven't refunded me. Or even exchanged it for a new one (which I don't think I even want a new one at this point because i highly doubt its reliability). Needless to say customer service has been very poor as well unfortunately. I don't know if others have had a similar experience though. Maybe I got a lemon. But I doubt it because once I looked up everything that has happened with mine, there are tons of the exact same reviews, so I think lemon is out of the question. I know 2 other business owners that have been refinishing hardwood floors for over 30 years, and they only have used Lagler and other than blowing a belt every 5-7 years or something small thats easy to fix from normal wear and tear they work consistently and there is very little down time. I don't know if that's the difference in German engineering compared to American or more than likely Pallmann is American but they manufacture the machine in China. I don't actually know but they need to address that issue it seems like people have had these same problems for some time now. I also have the Pallmann Spider and so far it has been pretty good. No complaints really with that machine. Maybe be nice if they had 7inch hook and loop protector pads. But so far so good for our first year with that.

Where was the adhesion test? Just a coin like it's a scratch ticket?

How does Whiteseal or Natureseal work on a soft wood species like doug fir? The wood is 100+ years old and has a tight vertical grain. I was planning to finish with Pall-X power ultra Matte. Or should I go with a clear sealer instead. I'm worried about splotches.

I must say I've changed my mind. Got great results with a white/neutral mix on stain. The product will set up on you so you have to hustle a bit solo, but the finished product looks fantastic.

So this stuff is $155 for a gallon or a liter? I looked it up and can't even tell. I can get a gallon of oil sealer for what, $45? Sure it's less durable, but finish is only as durable as the wood itself. What good is an overpriced finish that gives the exact same color as natural oil? And it requires yearly buffing correct? Starting to sound like a bad joke. To say this stuff is overpriced is an understatement. Bona traffic is somehow even cheaper. And I have to trowel this stuff on? On my hands and knees? I feel sorry for homeowners who shell out that kind of money, and the contractor for that matter. And any time I need to sit around and wait for the product is my time wasted. "Longer than ten minutes, no more than thirty," means, "don't bother."
