Brilliant lesson….. from Singapore
Best explanation in short. Thankyou. Does every serve has to be in continental grip ?
If you want to advance in the Ratings especially 4.0 and above you need to develop spin serves like a Slice and Top Spin/ Kick. Especially on second serve which allows you to hit with pace. “ Hit with Spin and the ball will drop in”. I also stress that you hit up on the ball to create an arch so it will travel up,over the net then drop into the service box then take a twisting bounce that make it more difficult to return. I teach the continental grip but personally hit many kick and slice serves with more of a backhand grip which increases the angle of the racquet head. I do hit my flat serve with a continental grip. I coach high school tennis and always compare serving to pitching in baseball. You have to change your spin and placement and use the score to select which serve you use and where you want to place it. Like a baseball pitcher you need to know what your opponent likes and what will get them to miss.
This one is amazing
Thank you alot for this video! it's great and has helped me so much learning my serve
This is mind blowing
This mind blowing!
Excelent!
When watching how people serve, it is the first indication whether they had training or are self thought
serena williams and boris becker hit their 1st flat serve with eastern
thats why they were not better players
Imagine winning 23 grand slam singles titles and then reading this comment
Well I think you need to talk about the path of the racket and racket head and the difference top is taking ball higher to the left for right handed and slice is lower and flat is a little higher up. Also Tahoe is Florida.
You explain very clear man, greetings from Argentina and thank you!
Clean, short and concise. Thanks!
Very good good n clear serve instructions I play w men n women players that have lots or some spin I always want to learn but ur videos give me a good idea of starting it w serve I’m a 3.5 intermediate n played w 4.0 players women’s n mix doubles both a lot 3-4 times a wk so these leagues are great u play w all types of players we have RRobins as well where u call street tennis all kind of players but all mix in teams I played against men who serve w such spin that the comes spinning towards me but that’s At RRobins but I’m pretty ok win 80% or 70% a bad day would be 50% but lots of fun it’s 6 indoor tennis club so thanks for the good tips 👍
Short and sweet. Thanks
Excellent basic intro-maybe next time and just add a bit about where you toss the ball and this would be a spot on video!
Easily one of the best instructionals!!! Deserves way more hits!!!
That's right, of the best I saw
Its a little more complicated than that.. if you really wanna serve well with an eastern grip.. you can. It has different properties than the continental.
Agree. You can still pronate using an Eastern grip. You can hit a much heavier flater serve with Eastern. Continental does add spin in exchange for pace. Its a myth that you must use a continental to have an effective serve. Boris Becker used Eastern grip on his serve for example.
The thing is continental grip may come too hard for amateur to master. Easter may be easier.
Serena williams serves with eastern for a powerful flat bomb
eaStern!
I could not believe I have the same racquet: Head Extreme Pro 2.0. I really enjoy your videos.
Good demonstration . Thank you
so easy to understand !
Boris Becker seemed to do OK with the eastern forehand grip on the serve.
