i don’t want to hear what attorneys say any more about any incident. Just because they went to law school doesn’t mean anything to anybody. Attorneys have been found to be wrong many times. Do not interview them for their opinion.

i go to the same school as him im a grade below his little sister,she isnt going to school for awhile,prayers and blessings for his family and friends and sister,i do think that football should get a littile more safer for highschoolers,and elementary students.you can donate to the family to help them out,prayers are sent to the family

A lot of silly comments. One fool below said there is a rule that the cop has to give an order before firing. No, you don't have to give any order before shooting--every situation is different. It can be objectively reasonable to give an order based on the circumstances, or not. What if the guy had opened the door and started shooting. Does a "HAVE to give orders" rule still apply? And no, there is no "right" to open fire the second you see a gun. As in every single shooting that has ever taken place, it depends on the circumstances as to whether something is valid or not. Don't know yet why the cop was there. That "can" be a factor. Lastly, if you are a law abiding resident who has a safety concern due to a knock on the door that you heard, but not the verbal announcement that it was a Deputy Sheriff, okay. The guy had military training. Is that how you open a door to a perceived threat? How about listening? Is there a side window to look through? The peephole if needed? Don't think it's a cop, don't open the door, call the local PD or Sheriff's. Or tell the cop to have his Dispatch call you. You can confirm the number with a simple Google search. Confirm who is at your door before letting it fly open. Anyway, my guess is the guy knew it was a deputy at the door and thought he was in no danger because "he" knew he wasn't a bad guy. If you're sure it's a deputy--put the gun aside but within reach. The deputy will understand when you tell him you are armed and you have a gun on a counter/chair, etc. Don't assume that cop will know exactly who you are and that you are not a threat. You can hate cops or love them, better to be alive to make your argument.

When you lower hiring standards, you get people in uniform that shouldn't be in them. This has to do will what started in 2008 and the vilification of police officers. Now no one wants the job so they've lowered standards. So now cops are making bad decisions and getting charged and going to prison. So even fewer want the job so they lower standards again. They gotta stop lowering standards so they can draw common sense people with skills for making decisions under pressure. Right now, those candidates are going to private sector jobs to avoid the disaster of public service.
