Interesting. I exercise with weighted maces, swinging and lifting. Hard to imagine 5 pound or more maces being used like this. Seems it would really damage the wrists. Are there simpler routines as well?

Great stuff... Legit...don't show the BJJ people or the their forums...the BOZO crowd, they won't believe it... it will offend the GJJ, the BJJ, the MMA, PRIDE...oh and then their question will be, "How many MMA, UFC, GJJ, BJJ, PRIDE Championships has he won? LOL!!!

Amazing. I practice a vastly different martial art and have much respect for Tai Chi thanks to some teachers I know in my state. It's fascinating to see the skill of someone of such a high level of expertise. Thanks for the posting of this video.

His opponent lost the aggro pretty quick. Nice post I guess Chen Ziqiang encourages his opponents to get as real as possible? Please keep sharing it is well about time the world saw the martial Taiji too many space cadets giving it a bad name
He does encourage his partners to be as real as possible, any rule the partner wants to set. He welcomes full speed strikes to the head and throat, but so far only 1 person I know did that. Everyone else is too scared to receive in kind.

MarcSitayeb Nice throws use normal grabs. Nasty throws are launched from pressure point grabs or from joint locks. Those throws look much more impressive and "magical", but at the risk of hurting your partner. CZQ has not used nasty moves for a long time now. He prefers to get tossed than to hurt the other guy when he is in a foreign country.
dark3031 My fajin is nowhere near CZQ but not even I use strikes in a spar. It's just too dangerous and crosses the line of being civilized. However, I gladly accept anyone who wants an all out spar, without regard for life and limb, to come to my school. Talk is cheap. Wishing to see someone fight someone else is just pathetic empty talk.
dark3031 Spars with 点到为止 turns into: A. Cardio exercise, or B. Wrestling. Because strikes are meant to cause pain and follow through with a lock/throw, or knockout. If you must hold back, then what's the point of executing a strike in the first place? In addition, we fajin through our locks to shatter joints. As smaller persons, we are already at a disadvantage playing with bigger guys, especially if we have to play nice.
