Lest all the complainers forget…Puccini originally wrote the role of Cala for Beniamino Gigli….hardly a tenor di forza. The tempo here is fine and the tenor is comfortable with it.
I think he wrote Calaf for Miguel Fleta, actually.
@@grantyoungblood7895 Fleta sang the world premiere but Puccini’s original intent was to have Gigli do the role……maestro Toscanini had other ideas !

Is there somewhere I can buy this version of Nessun Dorma? Its the best I've heard in 53 years of listening to opera. The sound quality isn't so great and I'd be happy to pay for a better quality recording or a DVD?

This is a good recording of Nessun Dorma. The only other version of this that I've heard like this is the version from Bocelli that has the extended chorus ending like this.
