Attending Car Meets in Illinois! - After 1 Year of Residence!
After a little over a year of PCS-ing to Illinois, I finally found myself back in the car scene. This was my 2nd and 3rd Car Meet I been to since moving here. I went to FullyDrvn's meet a few weeks ago but was too shy to record. Lol. Come tag along with my boy Andrew and I as we scope out the scene here. I definitely could have recorded better, but only improvements from here! Looking forward to building the car more, showing up to more meets, and meeting cool people!

This is my dream car and I don't regret buying it. Other people will tell you to avoid high-mileage cars and to a certain extent they are correct. This also shows that high-mileage cars aren't anything to be afraid of. As long as you know what you are getting into and be smart about it. If you really want something, you will use your resources to make it happen. Don't let the number on the Odom...

I picked up new wheels for the M4 but gah damn it was a struggle. Lol. Took almost over a week just to get all four wheels on the car. It was definitely worth it tho! Wassup ya'll, I'm briefly going over my experience so far owning a high-mileage F82 M4! I picked up the car with 102K miles. Not as bad as you think-if you know what to do and look for! i have a chance to get a 600hp f82 with over $20k in mods for a really good price. I’m really tempted but it would be a daily driver and doesn’t have the crankhub done. Should i pull the trigger or look for a different one with an aftermarket crankhub? Over 52 carfax statements in 9 years.
@@geoffandtara i would say put money aside to get the crankhub done as soon as you get it (if you do decide) for peace of mind. thats decent power and with all that mods, i wouldnt chance it.
@@f82kalikiano i was thinking to get it put down to a stage 1 tune as it’s stage 2 right now. or maybe just drive it carefully for a month or two until i can get enough to get the crankhub
@@geoffandtara get it inspected too. like either bring a bmw mechanic/someone familiar with the F8X platform. I’m also on stage 2 MHD tune (nothing crazy) with stock hub but i also dont drive my car crazy.

@@geoffandtara yuuup good idea! tbh depending on where you at, you can find different shops to do the crankhub. Southern California has a lot.
It’s the interior ina. Car that high on miles it’s worn plus the suspension and steering is looser that’s why you don’t want high mileage they don’t drive the same

@@f82kalikiano cause of mileage: i use it as a daily courier vehicle; total roundtrip miles 622mi daily, 3110mi a week. Regular\preventative maintenance always done early or as preemptively as possible. ive never done a pull and 80% of the miles are highway

I’m looking at one with 82k miles for 16k. I think that’s a steal. I also seen a 2017 with 232k miles!! I think it’s safe to say a high mileage car shouldn’t really be a deterrent. If anything it shows you the car is daily drivable and reliable.
Whats the history on that 82k miles for 16k? is it rebuilt or salvage title? Also yeah i agree with what you said about that second part. Definitely shows testament to the build quality of the car!

116k that's impressive!! I bought my M3 nearly 2yrs ago with roughly 68k on the odometer and as of today I'm sitting right at 100k!! in your video you made a lot of good points of what to expect when driving a high mileage performance vehicle. I like your saying "Maintenance over Mods!!", no truer words have been spoken. Since purchasing my vehicle I have been very proactive when dealing with maintenance. Granted I've done a couple of mods to the vehicle but I always put maintenance first. Love videos keep it up and Mahalo brah!!
yessah! i definitely learned my experience with not doing maintenance first in my previous BMWs. After a little growing up I learned to be more patient with the mods and do the maintenance first lol. More life to come out of your M3! Mahalo for the kind words!🤙🏾
Anything mechanically Wrong?
When I got the car, there was nothing mechanically wrong. Just opted to do the maintenance right away for peace of mind.

Local dealer had a 1 owner 60k mile M4 for $40k I slept if you paid $30k for 100k mile 😅😅 glad the S55 proves itself as reliable however.
if i had more money and more patience during the time i was looking for an M4, i would have paid the extra $10k for 40k less miles 😂😂 but i live and i learn lol
@@f82kalikiano Life goes on brother! S55 is a stout platform anyways. Afterall, $10-15k loss on an m4 in the grand scheme isn't the end of the world. People lose hundreds of thousands driving and selling their hyper cars. We're good 😂👍 enjoy.
A little late but I'm about to purchase a M4 as a daily with 73k miles and I was worried but the more I look at it and search it up the more it seems like the F8X platform is pretty solid

need help asappp looking at a 2015 M4 tmr with 87k miles but it’s a one owner , older guy , completely stock . do you think it’s worth 33.5k ? (Marina Blue )
check car fax history. ask for records or receipts of maintenance. big items are gaskets. any history of track use? also ask if crankhub is done.
if no recent maintenance within the last 10k miles, start looking into those and budgeting those in.

How much money do you think in total is on the maintenance things that you stated?
Over-all, I’d say 5-6k in a span of a year. I’d say I got lucky in the first few months cause I had a friend that did it and helped me for a really good price. Like the OFHG, water pump and thermostat parts and labor was under $1000 i think cause he had wholesale pricing on parts. And the valve cover, spark plugs and coils i did myself which saved me a lot of money.
the oil pan parts and labor was under $1000 too. The most i’ve spent was the control arms replacement and diff bushing cause I didnt have the proper tools so i had to take it to an indy shop that charged me 3k.

My 2018 F83 had 129K miles on. Loved every mile of it. My 2020 M4 has 50k miles.

My 2002 e46m3 has 158k miles and it still runs like it’s brand new bro. Mint exterior and interior. Manual. 💯stock . Maintenance over mods any day. Cheers!

Higher highway mileage is better than low mileage city driving. Stop and go traffic puts more wear on everything.

Love my F83. I’ve had it since 30k miles. I now have 90k on it. Have had to do some repairs along the way but mostly through warranty. Still puts a smile on my face especially because she’s paid off.
maintenance is unavoidable but makes it worth it! and hell yeah! debt free pulls are the best! lol
I want an F80 so bad, but want to keep my subie so I gotta wait another year until it’s paid off 😢

I picked up a 2018 M3 last November with 80,000 miles for a pretty sweet deal. The car exterior had a couple scratches and interior at a really good condition, the only thing that had some wear is the steering wheel and just a little bit on the driver seat. The engine light came on after a month but it was only a malfunctioning MAF sensor after I installed aftermarket intakes other than that this car has been giving me 0 issues, best car Iven ever owned. If you're thinking about doing it JUST DO IT its so worth. (tip: Dont get repairs at the BMW dealership they are scammers, find a small business that specializes in these type of cars, it'll save you so much money.)

that username wylin😂 anyway, i’ve never had a B58 nor have I experienced it. But based on friends and forums, they are pretty reliable and does make great power with few mods!

the b58s are almost on par with the s55s, modding em is cheaper and the reliability is great.

Fuck i want a f8x for my next car but i might just end up going m340i bc i feel like the b58 might be a lil more reliable..
Both are solid cars tbh! But know they have a common ground, which is being a BMW and will have those same common issues across all bmws (mainly gasket leaks/early prevention of those).

My M4 just got to 100k. I was dreading it, but now that it’s at 100k, I feel like it started a new life. And the car has 0 issues. Stock crankhub, Stage2.

@@JordanTheodoreYT Thanks…a lot more people than you think are on the stock hub - including Beemerfam (he’s done over 20k miles on a Stage 2 tune). It actually only affects a very low single digit amount of cars. What mostly triggers the CH failure is the sudden force of torque via kickdown or money shifting.

Had my f82 since 2016 with 0miles. Now I have roughly 106k on the dash and no issues at all. Been the most reliable m car I’ve ever owned.

@@uponscoreI have 101,900 miles on mine, Stage 2 for around 5k miles and no crankhub fix. Stock downpipes. Only charge pipes have been upgraded to eliminate this failure point.
