@shayneadams5204 These big beauties are absolutely tied in the middle, good eyes! They are much too big for me to spin comfortably, so I added double Butterfly Knots along the straight edge to shorten them a bit, and also give me an easy spot to grab! The Knot I used can be seen in detail on another video of mine, I eyeballed the second knot and tested it a few times before I felt the placement was right. That can be tricky! My biggest tip is to practice slowly, you can injure your wrist or shoulder if you are not careful. Whether you are spinning up high, behind your head, or down low, behind your hips, the big thing to get a feel for is the position of your shoulders, elbow, and wrist. Try the movement you want to do without your poi first, moving your hands in the direction you want to go. If something feels tight or off don't strain yourself, readjust your position to what you can do comfortably. When you practice with your poi, try to do 2 beats behind you and 2 beats in front of you to start building up the muscle memory. Make sure you stretch before and after practice as well to increase your range of motion!

Thank you! That's an excellent question; the Poi handles that I'm using help me switch between an Open grip before the 2:14 mark, and the Closed grip from that point on. I also have a Butterfly Knot added to my silks to make that grab a little easier. Good loops + Butterfly knot + Timing and Direction makes magic! (To answer your question with more detailed info; I am using Poi loops from ProFlowShop on Etsy (there is a short video that shows how I attach them to my first two fingers which allows for control of the Poi but also frees up your hand for closed grip moves), there is a short 'Tie Tutorial' video on my channel that describes the benefits of the Butterfly Knot and how to add it to your silks. Direction is important for this move; it's much easier to do the grab when the Poi are spinning backwards, so the silks are coming up towards your hands. ) I hope this helped a little, happy flowing <3 Cheers!
