Hi, I’m Andrew, a UK based woodworker and maker with a particular interest in bespoke furniture and custom pieces. Self taught, these are my creations, ventures and where I document my journey🪚🔨
Japanese “Naguri” pattern router jig
Making a router jig to easily create the Japanese inspired “Naguri” pattern on wood.
I’ve made this out of spare ply scraps and parts I already had in the workshop.
It’s achieved a highly effective result for such a low cost simple jig to make, I’m looking forward to experimenting with other patterns in future.
Thanks for watching and don’t forget to tap that subscribe button 🤙🏻

Scheppach CSH56 Chainsaw - the best budget chainsaw under £200 ??!
So simple. Nice!!
Great idea.! Isn't it a bit awkward to use the fence lock though.?
@@franklettering thank you 🤙🏻 not massively, I haven’t found many issues so far but it only really gets used occasionally 👍🏻
Awesome
@@scottandrews1419 thanks 🤙🏻
How does the wooden clamp help down? What is the green knobs?
@@paulh4654 it works by clamping the board against the stops the board is flat against the underneath surface. The green knobs are the micro jig dovetail fixers that you can slide to adjust 👍🏻
good to see that you extended the cut to include the riving knife. Great Job.
Surely this is wrong orientation for a dovetail?
Don’t think you could have it any other orientation in this application?
Slow the fuck down
I need a 17in circle though lol
@@jermainephillips5179 the principal is the same…attach a router to a piece of ply or similar that is 13.5” to the centre or adjust to the overall size you need 🤙🏻
Hi. could you make a couple of these inserts for me? my attemps wasted nearly 1/2 sheet of plywood.
A great looking jig buddy 🤙
@@roc-wood-creations thanks matey 🤙🏻 good to see you back 👍🏻
Link for the jig?
dude dont, it doesnt work like this, it will take you million years with jig as it will be too short than too long than too short than too tight, than too loose, after million years great i did calibrated and you grab differnet wood, or differnet wood from other pile and lets do this again :D it takes longer than with chizle and its not even stronger than other methods, go watch video how to use half blind jig normal video not commercial wil be fun couple hours for one board isnt it fun? :D
@@SmiteDoctor this was one I managed to find 2nd hand online, just search dovetail jigs online and there’s quite a few that you have the choice of. The closest to this is the ‘harbour freight’ model I believe. As for @Arturas1244 comment yes it does take a while to set up but 100% worth it if you have lots of joints to batch out.
At first I thought it was stopmotion, pretty cool joints toh❤
it takes forever to calibrate and for every board you must do it again and again, he didint showed pointless waste of try and error he made before i bet with chizle it takes 100 times faster than with jig.
@@wizardlizzard335 thanks 🙏🏻 they’ve worked out really well 🤙🏻
@@Arturas1244 it did take a while to calibrate but once right it worked like a dream, it works out quicker and more accurate if you have lots of joints to cut such as drawer boxes 🤙🏻
A beautiful bed for your son, he will love it. 😅
Thank you 🙏🏻
Better than standing at traffic lights asking people for money
Very true ! 🤙🏻
Brillant idea! Thank you! I'll be doing this on my next bed frame.
You’re welcome 😅 happy bed building 🤙🏻
😩ohhhh man
Sick! And great song choice!
Thanks buddy, appreciate it! Trying to use music that I enjoy when woodworking than the constant ‘trending drivel’ 😅
Always nice work coming from you and your channel but the audio changes are great! Ryan Hawkins changes the audio of his tools too! Great job and really cool!
Thanks so much, appreciate it 🤙🏻 will have to check him out !
Quality bit of repair work sadly as usual I will forget all about it when I need to make such a repair. Thus finding the need to swear a lot more 😆
Thanks buddy 🤙🏻 haha 😜
Cómo se llama la máquina que estás usando y que marca es?
It’s the makita drt 50 with a plunge base 🤙🏻
Presumably we are talking about hardwood? Because on pine this connection is associated with a rupture of the material. As for the comment, it is my right, and yours, to respond to the comment. Or, ignore it.
Presumably…yes it is. Although you could undertake a joint like this with pine in the right dimensions. You are correct it’s totally your choice to make absurd unhelpful comments. Hopefully you managed to see how this type of joint has worked very successfully in this application.
A completely incomprehensible video; when joining, you can see that the markings do not coincide with the centers of the holes. For what purpose is this video presented for viewing? Совершенно непонятное видео, при стыковке видно, что разметка не совпадает с центрами отверстий. С какой целью данное видео предъявлено для просмотра?
Obviously you’ve never come across a draw bore joint. The whole point of a draw bore joint is the part that moves is initially off centre so putting a dowel through pulls the joint together. Maybe do some research before commenting on things you don’t understand 😅🤷🏻♂️
Any idea why a Sheppach 56cc FPCS-5600 E1 saw might be cutting out? It runs for 10 mins then cuts out. It wasn't used for a good while since it was bought ( Aug 2021 )
Not sure buddy, I’m not a chainsaw expert. could be a number of things, incorrect fuel mix, Air filter clogged, choke setting, fuel flow. Hope you get it sorted 🤙🏻
Thanks @@caseebwoodworks
Hi thanks for your video I bought same one but I'm not sure what's the chain side for it and where I can get it from if you know please
Hi, just type the chainsaw model into google and you should get plenty of options 👍🏻
The trick with the level was pretty slick! Nice job!
Thanks buddy, it’s such a simple hack thats surprisingly effective!
OMG I LOVE COHEED, IM WEARING A COHEED SHIRT RIGHT NOW
🤘🏻
This is crazy dangerous. The chipping alone might be reason enough not to do this.
Is it ? I suppose anything with a power tool may be considered dangerous but with thought through processes you reduce the risk - in this case using a clamp with the mitre gauge, a stop block on the fence, tape to help redirect bigger chips and of course appropriate PPE. How would you have done it ?
Hi! Great videos and build. I have my first on the way and love the idea of building their cot from scratch. Do you have the plans for this available / for sale?
Hi, sorry for the delayed reply! First of all congratulations! It’s certainly special getting to build your baby’s cot. I do have some plans that I used however drop me a message and we can discuss further. Cheers 🤙🏻
👏 *promo sm*
Very therapeutic mate 😎
Thanks buddy 🤙🏻
😮😮😮😊
Stealth bomber?
😂😂
Really fantastic man thanks!
Thanks so much, glad you liked it 👍🏻
It looks fantastic bud! 👏 🔥
Nice work! How did you cut out the extra slot for the riving knife?
Thank you 🙏🏻 I removed it and used the table saw with the old throat plate on and the the zero insert peice clamped onto the tablesaw bed the opposite way around…next time I’d probably just handsaw the driving knife slot for safety 😅
What kind of band saw is that?
It’s an Inca Euro 260 - I believe an old originally Swiss design that was reproduced under several other names 🤙🏻
Looks like it’s working great bud 🤙
Quite a capable bench top saw, loving it 👌🏻
Vintage? That’s the exact same model I used at school! Feel so old
I believe 1980’s could be classed as vintage nowadays (for power tools that is 😉) it’s a lovely little machine, a bit beat up but runs like a dream after a bit of restoration 👌🏻
Awesome mate 👌
Thanks buddy 👊🏻
Great jig mate 🤙
Thanks man, simple but effective.
It’s looking great mate 🤙
Love the design, good clean lines too. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you ! A few more stages to go but getting there slowly 🤙🏻 appreciate the comment 👊🏻
Nice one Andrew. I never realised the sreamer box was so simple to make🤯🤯
Thank you 🙏 I’ve seen a few even simpler versions where they just strap the insulation board together…I wanted this a little more robust though,
What a find that is bud! I bet you couldn’t believe your luck 😅
Thanks mate, amazing right ?! 😁
I can’t wait to see the finished piece mate. That Oak looks stunning 👌
Looks great mate!
Appreciate it mate 🤙🏻
Great job mate 👌 🤙
🙏🏻🤙🏻
Very cool 😎 I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with that Oak mate 👌 🤙
Thanks matey, me too…when I have a spare minute 😆😅
It’s looking so nice! 👌 Really looking forward to the steam bending in the next episode mate 😎
Thanks mate, appreciate it. I’m deffo excited to get the last stage done 🤙🏻
How to reset it's chainbreak system?
I’d probably take the chain brake handle off and have a look at why it’s stuck first 👍🏻
