Dear sir Does graduation percentage matters in selection of assistant professor be it govt/private or ma percentage n ugc net phd marks matters
Graduation percentage matters when getting admission in Master's course. Minimum 55 % Masters marks is required for NET Exam. After that when you apply for Government college , all the marks from class 12 to Masters are Averaged - higher the average percentage,higher will be your score. Apart from that if you have PhD you will get extra marks of 15-25 maximum, depending upon the University or College and State Government. If you have some paper publication that also is counted. Again experience and the previous payment scale gives you extra marks. After that additional Masters degree can fetch you extra Marks. Ultimately, the interview marks and Demo class marks will be added and the final score will be calculated. Even if the names come in the merit list, that is not a guarantee that you will get a Job, the candidates name should be in a higher position according to number of Vacancies. This is how the Candidate are selected in most Government Colleges. When it comes to Private - College or University, Masters with NET is a minimum criteria. Again if the college or University is reputed, according to the number candidates applying for the Post, all the above mentioned points will be applied. I hope this points will be of some help.
