These words are my dream. I know that it is just a song. Oh, but what I wouldn't give is to have my lifelong love & husband to say these words & show those actions again. We grew up to together, We met and immediately started to date. I was 12 years old. Even then I knew I would marry him. After dating for 4 years I married him the August a couple of months after I turned 17 years old. We've been married for 38 long years, with 3 grown children, and 8 beautiful grandchildren, with 1 great-grandson. You can believe there have we had some hard times, but there have been some good times too. As our children grew up, our grandchildren were separated from us in distance. Theres only us now. In the last 4 years, ive noticed that we are little more than roommates. I miss the days we kissed untill my face was sore, we held hands and sat right beside each other in public and at home, we would talk about everything or no real subject for hours.I would fall asleep with my head on his chest feeling loved and safe. I honestly couldn't tell you the last time we kissed, held hands, or sat together. We love each other I just believe we've forgotten how to show it. I find myself missing who we once were. I miss that 16-year-old love.

Jeff is awesome...and that voice! Oh my gosh....I met him and was totally unprepared for such a sweet, humble man. I felt like a silly school girl...he made my knees shake.

This was only 8 and a half years ago...look how drastically country music has changed just since 2010! Jeff Bates today sadly wouldn't get past some little 18-year old receptionist at the record label that released this. A very good song by a very underrated vocalist.
