Tori Amos Interviewed by Kennedy on MTV's Alternative Nation (Better Quality). Interview is about her first big album, Under the Pink, which had just gone #1 in the Charts. (Parts 1 and 2 Together) - 1994
She's talking about this in 1994 and gets my respect all the way for that! I think that Tori is a mirror in all of her interviews in the way that she's honest enough to match the energy of her interviewer and speaks her mind. That's a rare trait. It's like you get what you give.

Tori grew up in Maryland and while it is south of the Mason-Dixon line, it’s generally considered mid-atlantic not southern, though there are shades of southern culture in rural areas. Tori is from Montgomery County in a suburb of DC. Overall, Maryland is not culturally the south and the majority of Marylanders consider themselves northern.

Tori has absolutely blown my mind and opinion of her in this interview. I never knew she was actually this liberal to be saying it's not just women's rights, it's human rights. I always thought she was this total misandry loving Fem-Bot jerk. Glad to know she isn't or at least was not back in 1994.

She has a daughter. Her daughter has fewer freedoms and rights at her age than Tori did when she was young. You think Tori supports that? No decent person should.
