    2:02 you have a huge gap in the seal at the top of your mask; I know that the pressure of the helmet suspension MAY push it down, but it seems that those top 3 straps that you "never have to touch" are not properly adjusted.

    I went through Ketamine treatments back in 2017. It was extremely helpful for me and there was very much a “before”’and “after”. Colors were brighter and I became a lot more emotionally in tune to what I was feeling. I had seen myself as someone who was willing to help people work through their issues. Only after ketamine could I really feel the emotional toll that role had on me. I finally felt like I could shed that role and enforce my boundaries with confidence.

    I’m a 19 year Engineer Medic in a large metropolitan fire department in a large city. It’s amazing to me the exact same problems we all face as first responders. It’s refreshing to hear we are not alone. I started my first Ketamine treatment last week and it was literally life changing. Thank you both for being so transparent and open and sharing what needs to be shared. Secrets keep us sick. Thank you.

    As a therapist I would just like to remind people that not all therapist match with everyone. Theres therapists out there that specialize in working with first responders. Not all therapists are shocked by your war stories. In fact many have had similar experiences or at the very least have some level of cultural competence. And some might even encourage you to try things like K therapy lol Also “those” medications do help some people. Ketamine is a drug. sSRI’s are drugs. Drugs are tools and sometimes its about finding the right tool for the right job.

    • @Guruchiropractor
      @Guruchiropractor Рік тому

      @dmnla hey there, thanks for asking. I am feeling better. Nothing miraculous happened or total like some people share. I had 7 sessions in total over about one month. Some up days and some down days during that time. Now, fast forward a few months and I'm back in therapy and seeing progress. So my synopsis is that the ketamine therapy helped loosen me or the resistance I was experiencing to look at things and work on issues. As I look and work with professional guidance I am experiencing some nice movement in places that I had previously been stuck and frustrated about. I do not plan on doing anymore psychedelic therapy in the near future, however, possibly doing more somatic therapy like breath work and Other non chemical treatments such as IFS (internal family systems) to further healing. ✌️

    In Germany the masks are already getting equipped by the two attacking firefighters on each engine while driving to the scene so they only need to attach the air hose to the mask if necessary and can work right away. Why would you lose time not doing so while driving there?

      I don’t know, I found someone near death, I was screaming and running around, I pushed on his chest a few times. That did the trick, he was alright. Found someone dead dead, years later. He was a friend, and he had no life signs, not purple like the other guy, he was bloated a bit and had brown stuff in his mouth, he had been dead for around 3 days, we figured out. That didn’t stop the emergency line from telling me to do cpr. I was like he’s dead. What really pissed me off, was the old bloke that also lived at the boarding house, didn’t care about him at all, saying how this had f**ked up his day. I would like to think I would run towards the danger, and my dad was a firefighter for 40 years, just forced to retire. But he always did his job.

      Nah. Putting your gloves on last is much slower. If you pull hose or do anything on the fire ground on your way to the door to make entry, and your hands get wet, it can really slow you up when you try to get your hands in. You have minutes in the rig while in rout to the fire, there’s no reason to not come off the rig with literally every piece of PPE already on that you can, and be ready to go.

      I agree. I've been out of it for a while, but when I was on the Fire Department, we were taught to keep your chin strap loose, drop your helmet back, put your mask on, tighten up the straps, then pull your helmet up and tighten the chin strap, an you're good to go.(I did it back in the late 80s, before hoods were as common as they are today, but from the video, I don't see the hood impeding anything).
