Handy strapping tool Floorwrights use to protect your extra flooring from warping while stored. How to store flooring, especially wood flooring, begins with tight strapping to keep the flooring true. The tool in this video is very outdated, as I am. A newer version, but with the same tension fastener, is available at amzn.to/3NXWgPg.

Everybody gangsta until half of the nail breaks off 😅
I prefer to build with Woodglut plans.
Thank you for your content Is there a difference between any white oak and french oak?
Great walk through
Shame you couldn’t actually see it
Please control your volume.
Snap a chalk line I have been installing floors for forty years never had a problem
Terrible instructions
Isn't this an older proteam supercoach model?
I hate you for doing this...
Does it alter the color of the stain?
good thanks, but volume varies too much
I am now ready to build a whole house on my own. Thanks. 😂
So clever! Wish I saw your video about 2 weeks ago…
So that's the boen bar? Boen as in Boen Hardwood Floors?
Learn how to make it yourself with all details. Just google for 'woodprix' website:)
thanks for your video. Ive never laid laminate before but I had no problem when using this method. Much appreciated
I always wondered what you call those “Rays”
Thank you for the tip
Okay so wich is best for boat building? Secondly can Red oak not be made less thirsty by making it drink a solution of diluted acrylic fluid beforehand thus sealing its thirst?
White oak, the wood resists leaking.
Louis explains with an example ua-cam.com/video/L6t2AZubF8U/v-deo.html
Great Tip. Thank you
What brand is the edger?
so i made it too :D just by using woodprix plans:)
You can go to woodprix if you would like to make it yourself guys.
Fascinating! I will go analyze my furniture!
Great to see that... I made it too. Using woodprix handbooks :)
When you remove for reuse, do you sometimes label the pieces? I'm planning on removing my wood flooring to level the surface. I will reinstall it in the same space.
Good to see that the woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
Thank you!
In Texas if you paid 10 dollars a board then you bought red oak If you paid 25 dollars you bought white oak.
Where do you buy the pad so you can use the hook and loop option?
I had an issue of the paper ripping towards the center where those perforations are near the center. I see other paper doesn't have that. Also I see you doubled up the paper. Is there a reason for that?
The second piece of paper is for adding a bit of protection to the black pad while also slightly reducing the angle of the pad, making it less aggressive. Some guys use 2. I would recommend a used fine grit. But if that is what your going for your better off with an edger pad. There's a few different materials they make them out of, essentially just the same as the different buffer driving pads. I'd recommend the thin white ones made of a cloth like material. Why he had the paper upside down with the abrasive touching the pad? My best guess would be for even pressure and maybe so the disc doesn't slip? I wouldn't ever have the abrasive face the disc, it will damage and wear it down faster. Especially if the the paper slips. As in the pad spins but the paper doesn't. As far as the paper ripping... if you are using a super 7, it has a washer better suited for a larger hole like his paper. If your using standard 5/16 hole I can see it tearing. Also don't change the paper with the edger upside down. You lay it on its left side, right side if your left handed. Dust, dirt, and abrasive grain fall down there and the bolt compresses it. It can throw your edger out of whack, your bolt can get stuck, it can and will strip your bolt, and even strip your jack shaft. Which happened recently at the co.oany I work for because this kid wouldn't stop doing that. You'll eventually have to drill out the crud. Yes technically the directions say what he's doing, upside down; but it's not practical, and it's not for the betterment of the tool; most of all its not safe and could be dangerous. If it accidently turned on. Getting the paper on, on its side is easy. Even in its side it should be blown and vacuumed out at the end of the day anyways.
Wouldn't you have notice that before starting to film the video?
Glad to see a splitting video, Tim!!! Nice change of pace. And you carry a lot of punch in those swings, you can get through about anything. Tough guy^5s
Re
Say something. What are you doing
Thanks, Jerald! You explained this quite clearly, without rambling and wasting time as many people would. Way to go.
Would this technique work on the seam of a double wide where they join? I want the flooring to be free of transitions but the seam is off on one edge by 3/16".
I made it, learned on Woodprix website. great solutions I think.
Check Woodprix mates. I love it to my wooden projects.
You never said which was "good" which was "better" and which was "best."
Who you gonna call?
ghostbusters!!!
The real question is why the English world uses mentally challenged to come up with naming conventions ;)
Lolll got a good laugh out of when you got to the last two sets of nails bahaha
Your title is wrong. This video is only about tearing up a floor, nothing about repair.
I'm looking for my paintscraper!
Great tip! So the first board at the corner has to be cut to a smaller width to stay in line with the string?
... or a sweeping brush and a dustpan
never thought of that
how far is the board away from the wall?
