i can understand why this version was not received well, but for it to get banned? madonna should have been able to release both versions of the video, she is expressing how she feels through art, since when did art become illegal? freedom of speech and expression of that freedom is what the people that were upset about this video are screaming and hollering about now in 2021. i have family members that would be deeply offended by this video and demand it not to exist, yet can't wear a mask for 20 minutes in a supermarket because it is taking away their freedom. sorry for going off, but no matter how 'offensive' it may be, art deserves to be expressed freely as long as it isn't harming anyone. for me, this is the only version of the video.

People are very much aware of it, but the problem was people didn't want to SEE it and it was made at the worst possible time when Bush sent us to war. It needs to be seen to show people look, this is the reality. Like it or not. You need to be visually aware of it despite the content. Madonna was and still is way ahead of her time with music and music videos. I'm glad her "newer" stuff is finally getting appreciated. She received controversy again with her music video, God Control. It depicted a mass shooting at a night club (presumably Pulse Orlando). Some of the survivors said it was insensitive and uncalled for. I understand their feelings having lived it but She again was showing people. Look, this is the reality of mass shootings. This needs to stop! She is and always will be my number 1.
The fact is that it's NOT banned! She withdrawed it! The whole Dixie Chicks situation made her worry about her family, especially her children, that's why she stopped the release of this video herself. After all these years, still hoping she will release the official video someday.
At least USA never killed some communist rally (stupid people) and protest, unlike in China they torture and massacre the democracy protest (1989 Tiananmen Square protests) and Madonna is fake because she is silent about taliban today

I really like this video. At the beggining you can see how entertaining is the war fashion, actually a parody of the war tension from the early 2000. You can see how the people enjoy the spectacle and how it starts to turn into a bloody masacre, that they enjoy. A fun fact is how Madonna enters the runway in an mini cooper with an american flag :). Then people stills thinking how the violenece entertain them. Till is in front of their faces, once there is no time to go back. Then George W. Bush and his friend OBL take the granade as another toy. Is the war their playground? War is just a game for them. Brilliant.
