Great episode. Can I ask - if you still have contact with Bri - what were the first "weird" symptoms or circumstances that prompted her to say "okay, this may not be just aging with CP?" It's a tough set of circumstances, because even though CP isn't progressive, living with it can put your spine through accelerated wear and tear that can bring up new neuro symptoms (where I'm at with my CP), so it's good that you were able to get an MRI to narrow down the field of possible causes to get to MS.

I think it is really more expensive, because equipment for rare conditons or needs is not mass produced. That makes a lot of those things made by hand, manufactured in small numbers. I really don't think, it is on intent, but it should be sponsored, in germany even social welfare (if inssurance isn't covering it completely) sponsors utilities people need when chronically ill, but you need all the papers from your doctors proving that you need it to live as much independent as you can. I just repeat the word "representative" into the phone. I can speak fine but voice software doesn't understand what I say. I don't even have an accent. Funny enough the only software that can understand me is one notorious for not understanding people. Hey You Pikachu works fine for me.

These systems are hard to handle for everyone. But respect for speaking up! I hope some phone service programmers hear you!

Hint: When the automated system asks you to state the problem in a few words so it can better serve you, say something like, "Well, let me tell you about my day so far. First of all..." and just keep babbling on.. It will cut you off after about 30 seconds and again ask for you to explain. Start rambling on again. Most automated systems will get a representative for you after the second time, and all I have dealt with after the third time. Hope this helps everyone.

Hi Whitney! I'm so sorry to hear that! But, I've been noticing that some (to not say all) seems to intentionally make you keep repeating the steps claiming that they didn't understand you just to make you give up the call. So don't be sad because of that because recently I also had a similar experience even though I don't have any speech impediment. I think that's just how the robots work.

Im learning humble and as difficult as it is in different ways to do things. But pushing forward to get what ever it is im doing and get it done is an accomplishment im starting to take my first steps again.
