    I found that over half of my unforced errors were due to me hitting the ball off center to my paddle, or letting the ball hit the edges of my paddle instead of the sweet spot. When I started hitting a few hundred volleys and dinks against the wall, forehand and backhand concentrating on hitting the sweet spot, this translated in me hitting the sweet spot (or close to it) automatically while in a game. I later noted the same thing when helping/teaching beginners.

      Yep it's a private residence. You could only find that out here in northern California in a 75million dollar home, due to the cost per sq foot.

    You can explain the backhand dink as “swinging from the shoulder making the amazon logo” helps students connect the technique.

    Aggressive drinking would incorporate a two handed top spin dink not a weak slice!

    • @TyButson
      @TyButson 16 днів тому

      That’s very true! Just wanted to start with a slightly easier shot. If you are able to hit an aggressive slice dink that’s also very effective too.

    Pressurized dinking is only 1/2 of the equation. When one is push off balance or out of position using a lift dink to buy time to get back is a good idea.

    I am in the process of doing the third shot drop. Occasionally, the groups I play with will engage in a dink rally during play. I like the dink game and will get my friends to try it when we warm up or if we have six players for our two courts. Thank you for making the video. Nolan is very good to help you and a good player too.
