    It might be editing but I didn’t hear a single bleeped word😂 We did this on our C42 out through the galley and up the companionway with two sexagenarians (seniors). There may have been a few bleeped words and phrases😇 We cut out the battery compartment and put in a floor and a bulkhead separating the lazerette and the electrical compartment. Now have 20kWh of batts, 2 MP in split phase and a dry electrical compartment (when lines, fenders, etc) get tossed into the lazarette. Fun project.

    Sorry, I'm watching your episodes out of order lol. Why did you not stop in Belize? Do you have AC in your boat? Do all boats have to hire a guide to go over the bar? You've sold Guatemala to me, now I have to convince Steve. Really enjoyable episode, thanks 🥰⛵

    • @SailingMandala
      @SailingMandala 5 місяців тому

      We had to skip Belize on the way south because we needed to get to the Rio for hurricane season starting in June and our weather window dried up. Knowing what I do now, I’d probably arrive in July. We’ll hit Belize on our way out. Not everyone needs to be tipped and towed, only boats with deep drafts. We do have AC, but electricity is expensive at the marinas so we only used it sparingly. It also makes people cocoon on their boats. You have to acclimate to the heat.

    Hi guys, Just found you and subbed. You're actually going to get 2 views from us because having watched this episode I now need to watch again with my husband. What a great episode. I'd love to go to Guatemala, but Steve has been a bit reluctant. I think you're video will prove to him that we should go. You made it so interesting. We're currently in Martinique and will be heading north to Antigua/BVI's etc. later this year. I have so many questions, would you mind if I pm you? Thanks, Annette, Steve & Gus (SV Cordelia) 🥰⛵🐾

    Thanks for posting the video. The Rio Dulce has changed dramatically since I was last there 2002 :) I didn’t hang out for the rain season :) There was no sail loft and far less sailboats. I stayed at Marina Tortuga, not far from the fortress. Enjoy your time there…I’m currently in the Finger Lakes NY. We are praying for a cloudless Total Solar Eclipse this Monday :)

      Oh wow! I know the Rio is Changing a lot from stories like yours. I am grateful we were able to witness the old ways before it transitions to a modernized waterway. We saw a total solar eclipse in Georgia a few years ago. It’s magical if you can get in the right location.
