    Looks like the iWave is better than my Reme Halo and lasts longer with no ozone. Plus, I can use a less expensive filter. I currently use a MERV-16. With the iWave I might use a much cheaper MERV-8, but replace it more often. The problem I have is that the HVAC company that I had install my system and who maintains it wants $1097 for an iWave and that's a discounted price! The iWave sells for around $380. I can't believe they want to rip me off, but I'm thinking about looking elsewhere for installation. Hopefully it would be wired properly and would not blow my circuit board. Anyway, I might call around for prices.

    I just got one my question is.. how long does it take to clean the air of a 1300sqft home? We turn of a/c daily for a few hours in the early morning until it starts to heat up covid hit our home so now we’re wanting to know how long it takes to make it safe for us to be mask free at night

    How does the I Wave-R do with mold? And what about existing mold on a coil? And would it be ok to use in combination with a UV coil light? I am deathly allergic to toxic mold and am dealing with a 2nd exposure (problem already remediated) just dealing with the residual after effects in the home. (And in the coil)

      Ask them if you purchase that and pay for it at that price. If it goes bad, are they going to charge you a labor charge within the 3 years of that warranty to come back out? Replace the new one?

    If I'm in Florida and have a different air handler in the attic, do I have to put the IWave before the coil after the last filter? My system runs filters first from the interior of the home, then to the coils, then the blower and into the house.

    If I have the iwave-R installed by a licensed electrician will that be adequate proof of professional installation to have my product covered by the warranty? reason I ask is that you don't have to incorporate the iwave-R into any of the mechanical componets of your HVAC, you don't even need to cut a hole in your ductwork. The company installing the iwave-R in my area is charging $750 with a limited discount of $75, and I feel that that's an excessive profit margin on a product that should take less than 30 minutes to wire correctly. I would appreciate your feedback as I would love to install one and have the benefit of a 3 year warranty versus none.

      You risk warranty but the connections are simple. Turn off power. White to C terminal. Black to R terminal. Green to ground

      I would not worry about the warranty if they make something and it only lasts 3 years then they'll lose a lot of business. On the other hand, they're losing business already because the contractors are always trying to stiff the buying public. Therefore we frown on it and we go to something else. My own opinion is a license electrician ought to be fine or any electrician for that matter or to be fine. I worked in construction. I worked around electricians union electricians, all apprenticeship trained and some who bought that cards. They were all qualified to do this. I think new calgon is really wrong and if this product is what they say it is and it's simple to hook up which I am going to do on my own that they should at least extend a warranty of 2 years. If it's a self-hookup you can send the item back to them and they can check it and if it looks like it was done wrong they could deny it. On the other hand, if you do have a license contract to do this work and the unit goes out, the contractor is going to charge you again. He's going to give you a new unit but he's going to charge you the labor to put it in. Ask him that ask him if this unit goes out during that 3-year warranty. Will he send his guy out or his girl or whoever he sends out? Is he going to charge you labor charge? That's the question that I don't see

    I WATCHED THE PRESENTATION BUT YOU DID NOT SHOW THE WHITE AND BLACK WIRES WHERE THEY GO TO ON THE CIRCUT BOARD?

    • @kevinmallion4468
      @kevinmallion4468 3 роки тому

      The white wire is your neutral, the black wire is your power ( 24 vac/120vac) if you have an air handler (240vac) the White is leg one of power & the black is leg two of power. If you want the devise to run when the fan runs use the thermostat connections on your circuit board white to the C or common terminal, & the black wire to the G terminal (fan) hope that helps

    Is it necessary to purchase an iWaveC for a rooftop residential 5 ton unit, or is the iWaveR ok to use, even though the housing is not waterproof?

    • @hvacdepot

    I was going to install an iWave-R, but I went with Plasma Air PlasmaPure product because they don't require a receipt from an HVAC installer for the warranty. Just be sure to use one of their distributors that sells to the public. Their PlasmaPure 600 series is comparable to the iWave-V and is about $100.00 cheaper. It comes in four models depending on the power you want to run it on. I used the 603 which runs on 120v AC.
