Important Considerations in Preparing for Interview
This video outlines important considerations for preparing interviews in human rights fact-finding, emphasizing the need for careful question formulation and documentation of emerging issues. Best practices include using clear, non-emotional language, pacing the interview appropriately, and being mindful of local speech patterns, while also ensuring that interpreters remain neutral during the process. The lesson highlights the significance of obtaining consent for recording interviews and planning for potential challenges with equipment. A review activity encourages participants to analyze a fact-finding report forum-asia.org/fact-finding-report-on-rohingya-refugees-in-bangladesh/ focusing on methodology, consent issues, and the preparation of interviews, particularly for sensitive topics like gender-based violence.

    But the stage set is conceived, painted, defined by feminists. feminists have written the play, have directed the show, interpreted the meanings of action, reinterpreted it, changed the interpretation again, and changed it yet again to fit whatever narrative was convenient at the time. And, they have assigned themselves the most interesting, most heroic parts, giving men the supporting roles or the role of the hated other, the demon, the demiurge that must be destroyed forever in order to satisfy the never-attained "liberation" or "empowering" of women.

    Your analysis is a great start to this conversation. However, there are actually at least four stages of patriarchy that we can identify: androcentrism; patriarchy leaning; patriarchy heavy, and full on patriarchy. Currently, there are no longer any full on patriarchies, thank goodness, but the Taliban is trying to make Afghanistan one again. They just need to pass a law allowing men to SELL their mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters, and they will have achieved Full On Patriarchal status. Unfortunately, the Rabid Rightwing parties of many countries around the world are pushing for this same increase in the kind/nature of the patriarchal systems they have. For instance, the United States was merely Patriarchy Heavy between 1970 and 2022, but the removal of women's rights to autonomy in 2022 pushed the country into a Patriarchy Heavy state. I discuss patriarchal systems in my book Pitiless Bronze, demonstrating that patriarchies were not a thing before humanity learned that men play a role in pregnancy circa 2400 BCE, even though some cultures were becoming androcentric before then.

    If everything else is exactly the same then how come the military has lower standards for women in the PT test? In the Army’s new ACFT the scores were going to be gender neutral meaning one set of scores, there’s no male or female standards, but the females were having trouble with getting a passing score, so how is it that even the guy with the lowest ACFT score could do better than most women? Not saying women can’t have the same score as a man but that’s super rare.

    This is the usual feminist utopia bs. Western society has become feminised and look how well that is going. Women this, women that ... bs, whoever says it.

    Stockholm Syndrome can always be found in all oppressed minority populations. Stockholm Syndrome is when one imitates one's oppressors in the hopes that they will then treat you better because you are no longer seen as so different. So they identify with their oppressors in the hopes that it will lessen their oppression. Stockholm Syndrome can be found in all oppressed minority populations. It is simply an act of selfish desperation. It is simply a survival strategy. And the reason Heterosexual females support Heterosexual male Patriarchy is because they have been raised to be financially dependent on Heterosexual Patriarchy. If they could financially support themselves. They would feel much less oppressed.💙

      That's like saying in an organization managers are treated much better and have more benefits than factory workers. Which is technically true, but is not the point. End of day both managers and factory workers have no power or control over what is being manufactured, how much of it is manufactured, to whom it is sold and at what price? Can they influence? Yes of course. But the actual power over decision making and control over resources is held by the employer/ owner. Are there managers who support their employers and get benefits in return? Yes. But remember that same person (employer) who provides these benefits, can also take them away.

    Women support patriarchy because it actually helps women just as much as it does men. It also harms women as much as it does men. Egalitarianism also helps and harms men. We need to do away with the idea that patriarchy is a system of control over women by men. It is a way of organizing society to maximize utility and minimize risk. Patriarchy may be less useful in western society in the present, but it was widely useful in the past. We should give reverance to this mode that carried us through much of history!

Men have not evolved past their genitals,, They do not have the consciousness ,,depth of character or the ability to really love .. Most also abuse their wives by their domination and control,. Very distorted and unnecessarily divisive views. Patriarchy was not only about "hunting", but also about protecting against animals and bad weather, building structures and infrastructure, exploring land and oceans, digging deep into the earth to extract minerals, protecting against invasions and robbers. Hard, brutal work. This is where men contributed due to physical strength and not having to bear children. Sure, one can argue that "women are controlled by men". But let's not forget that men too are controlled in the society. This is how life works. If he's late to a meeting by mere 10 minutes, he would get a stern stare from the boss. If this happens a few more times, he'd get a warning. Then a discussion with HR and finally losing his job. "Hey, women are controlled by men" - is too simplistic a view. And dangerous. As patriarchy is being dismantled and women are left to fend on their own, birth rates have dropped to below-replacement levels. And this pattern is repeating across the globe wherever the "working women" model is being adopted. So yes, the Traditionalist view of patriarchy has great merits.

  • @DorianGray641
    @DorianGray641 17 днів тому

    "Patriarchy" is not the same as "abuse of women". Let's separate the two. Men dominate economics, politics, businesses, etc. because they built these institutions. This is how biology and history work and this is how societies have evolved. And for good reasons. Men are aggressive and competitive by nature and have gone on to explore and dominate the land, the oceans, and air and space. No way women could or would have done the same. These are ground realities. The most important role for men in a society is to provide for and to protect women and children. This is the essence of patriarchy. Like I said, it's best to separate "patriarchy" from "abuse of women". They are not one and the same.

    Totally - women in the past were burdened with children rearing and menstruating, thus incapacitated. This kept them from work, which is very physical. Men, on the other hand, were not burdened by these constraints, hence they dominated gender roles. Today, with the advancement in science and medicine, it has made it possible for women to work and take on more physically demanding responsibilities. But even with advancement, it is very demanding for women to work. Women get sick a lot, which is a major factor in their absenteeism.

    'Behind every great man is a great woman' ? Top paid CEOs tend to have stay-at-home women who get to go shopping to spend the money. In strict Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia I read that women like to be able to stay at home with their women friends, not have to go to work, and feel protected by their men who go out to work instead. In Japan the most beautiful women tended to marry the top salaried men, and I would see them enjoying picnics in the park with babies - not having to go to work. A female friend told me it was great scam - enjoying going to cafes to relax with her women friends while her husband went to work - I told her she was talking to a man ... !
