    This is exactly the type of video I was looking for! Dude these pictures are incredible and definitely inspire me to do more and do better with my X-T20. Consider me slightly fangirling. Any chance the editing in a lot of these pictures (thinking mainly about the ones with the water reflection) is a film sim you’d be willing to share?

    • @ronan_duff
      @ronan_duff 8 днів тому

      @@ryanmillsap1473 ah that’s very kind of you to say Ryan, no need to fangirl at all! XT-20 is such a capable camera, it really is. The editing is mostly using Classic Chrome for colour shots, and then the b&w images (like the water reflection shots) are using Acros (+G usually) and then adding some orange/warmth to midtones and some grain as well, to taste. I tend not to over edit and try to do as little as possible so some slight white balance shift, warmer mids, grain, overall clarity reduction and then shadows/highlights to taste! If anything the biggest editing tip for me is not to be afraid to overexpose the highlights and lost the detail if they’re not needed - hope that helps.

    The X-T20 was my very first Fuji camera, it made me fall in love with photography all over again and fall in love with Fuji cameras. I have since then moved on to the X-T2 and then the X-T3 that I still use for my professional work, but that X-T20 let me tell you was a hard camera to sell, emotionally speaking. @@KateShiwoshiwo Hi Kate, thanks so much for watching and commenting! I’m not as familiar with the XA7, the main differences I can see are the LCD screen on the XA7 is newer and articulates fully, it doesn’t have an EVF (which is useful if it’s bright out) and the XT20 does. It would seem the XA7 has better video features, but both are more or less the same for photos. The XA7 does have USB C charaging, which is handy. I think if I had to pick just one it’d be the 23mm f2 - just for the fact I could always crop in, but the 33mm 1.4 is still my favourite lens in general!

      @@DominicTing-vf1ng I haven’t used the 16-50 yet so I can’t say too much about it but I’m a massive fan of the 18-55, it was the lens I bought with my XT4 and I still use it now! Great lens, if you want more about it I’ve got a video all about it!

    This was my gateway into the fuji system. I have a 23mm f1.4. I'm old school in that I'm one of those old people who only speaks up to complain about something. I simply don't have anything to say about it. It lives in my xpro1 and xpro2

    Professional sports photographers that work in inclement weather use rain gear (Aquatec & other manufacturers) to protect their expensive camera bodies/lens. Cameras & lenses are NOT waterproof but rather water resistant. Do not believe the misleading “hype” that camera manufacturers use to entice buyers to purchase their equipment.

    • @ronan_duff

      Yeah that’s fair, especially if that’s your livelihood and shooting with incredibly expensive I think gear I’d the same..

    I've had a couple instances where I had to deal with fujifilm service, and I was always pleased. I think once I paid for a repair and once it was warranty covered. For myself, I've been very happy with fujifilm service.

    I'm always so scared to have my camera out in any kind of rain. I usually cover it with something, some kind of plastic bag if I must shoot in the rain. Sorry to hear about your camera.

    On my trip to Iceland last year, I carried my Canon 6D Mk II in the rain all day. It wasn't heavy rain, just a light and constant drizzle. The 6D Mk II isn't waterproof, but it's a semi-professional camera, so I thought it would handle a few splashes. And it did! However, by the end of the day, when we were in the car heading home, some buttons stopped working, and the connection to the lens failed as well. It seemed completely broken. I was sad because I assumed I would be without a camera for the rest of the trip (we still had 5-6 days left). The next day, we went to a house with a wall heater, and I followed some online suggestions to leave the camera and lens exposed to the heat overnight, hoping to dry it out completely. To my surprise, the camera worked perfectly the next morning!

      Ah delighted to hear it came back to life in the end, especially on a trip like that to Iceland! It’s not fun seeing your camera slowly stop working though, is it? I’m almost surprised actually the the 6D wasn’t weather sealed!

    Weather sealing and shock proofing is my absolute priority with new cameras. they are simply too expensive an investment for companies not to put at the top of their feature lists.

    • @ronan_duff
      @ronan_duff 2 місяці тому

      I’ve never seen shock proofing really mentioned in specs before, is it common? Weather sealing for definite if it’s a camera I plan to use in wet weather conditions for sure - I could probably live without it for an everyday carry camera but for anything outdoors for long periods weather sealing is a must!

    I used to have the 23mm f1.4 which was my main lens for a long time, but a few weeks ago I decided to switch to the f2, since it’s smaller and I rarely use the f1.4 and I don’t regret the decision at all. This lens also fits the look of my x pro 2 soo much better then the f1.4 did and it’s overall more fun to take the camera with me everywhere
