Cycling from Copenhagen to Venice EP3 - Italy with some Greece
We start out by finishing the Lienz to Cortina day over a 1530m pass and we spend some time exploring the dolomites. Tre Cime was nice, but the WW1 tunnels and fortifications on Lagazuoi were amazing. It also helped that the tunnels were super chilly after so many days in the heat!
Next, it was just a short few days ride to Venice, though we had a pretty hard headwind on the first day which dampened what was supposed to be a fast downhill blast! We did shorter days as my wife was still working afternoons.
After a couple days exploring Venice, we started taking some trains to get south and find a home base in Sicily for a bit, followed by Athens. We had to disassemble the bikes to take them on the fast trains in Italy and they're really not set up for bikes, but the staff were quite nice and I tried to be attentive and help people get around my bikes or move them when they were in the way. So, it can be done on the Frecciarossa!
It was fun to get out a few days on the bike in Athens and we climbed Ymittos mountain as there's a road right to the top! I was hoping to mountain bike there too but rentals were a bit tricky to arrange as many things are closed in August!
There were some beautiful places along the way and it's fun to try to capture these in video.

Cycling from Copenhagen to Venice EP2, Czech and Austria
Переглядів 10414 днів тому
Having skipped most of the EuroVelo 7 through Germany, I was eager to be off the main roads for a few days in Czech. Trailside snack bars were all over the place north of Prague and we had good weather! We were still dealing with a skin infection and visited a couple more pharmacies and a doctor. Also, my son felt off on the second day and had a good vomit in a town square. He felt better after...
Cycling from Copenhagen to Venice EP1, Denmark & Germany

My mom, wife, son, and I set off from Copenhagen towards Italy on our bikes. This first episode covers Denmark and Germany as we get adjusted to being back on the bikes. We started with some nasty headwind and some rain in the first 4 days but the weather improved later on. We also battled a skin infection passed on from Natalia's fall just before the trip, and a random sick day from my son. We...
A solid ride down one of my favourite trails full of skinny bridges!

I'd like to post a fast rip down Boogieman but I can't skip all the fun bridges! What a nice green winter we're having in the rainforest this year! Mount Seymour, and the whole North Shore, is riding super well.

Curranty under a 5 year rebuild.. lol
Nice work little dude!
Epic tour as well as video.
Seeing an 8 year old hit A-line while my 13 year old brother in law is scared to ride a pump track just cemented his coward levels lol
that’s sick!!!!! love it!!
👍
Respect for this little guy
yuuuup that's what is should be done by father when son fall ,he will learn how to be staying calm and then learn how to check on himself and I'm sure you checking for him now , that will be one of the best driver's out there , w parenting
A-line is so much fun, I can't wait for my son to get a bit better so I can take him to Whistler.
It takes many years of easy trails.. but then it just happens and it's great!
That hyphen saved bro 🙏🏻
Rode this for the first time today, pretty spicy. Did you link the double slab? How does that ride?
Yeah it rides well, just aim to flow between them without fully stopping between. It can get skiddy when you try to stop
Thanks for the reply!
Could you tell me where it is? Looks pretty nice and id like to try it
Mmmm.
ill consider going on one maybe…if im ready😅
Looks fun!
hello, how do you record the volocity and your position on the trail
Having a crack at it is great
This seems like a nice flatter route, ideal for going with a child! Thanks for the idea
You went there?
I love the actual logs as bridges
Haha yeah, they're fantastic and progressively get harder every year as they rot away
Impressive
Are you okay?
Is this atlas? 😂
Wow
choo choo!
Even though it frightens me, I'm impressed. All of you are very controlled and talented.
7 years later its still based
👍
"Number one, it appears Q has placed us in a 21st century dwelling and changed our appearances. What would you suggest?" "We still look cool. Just keep walking."
Did you have difficulty going up?
None!
he'll be sending dirt merchant pro line soon
cool trail nice send!

Hi I’m ocean
great video, thinking of doing this route next year, but maybe with alps, not sure yet. this has made me think
I'm going back for another route with alps next year.. That might get you thinking even more!
Oh wow I’m about to attempt this on my Kawasaki Z400 this Saturday lmao - googled it but didn’t expect someone to have already done this
Love it! Great if you don't have a car that'll make it up. Have fun!
@@TheTrailSnail did you face any issues with abs on while coming down?
@@JunayedAhmedN No, tho I wasn't ripping.
Superb video! No music. No fancy edits. Just raw sound and great shots of every section and feature, plus damn good riding. And to ride the log skinny at the end, wow. I know that move and it's high consequence. Treasure Trail is such a masterpiece.
Thanks! It really is a great trail that I wanted to get on camera. I've had that log on my mind for a few years so this was the excuse to finally ride it! That blind gap also gave me some pause but it was smooth.
OMG , incredible trail, skill nad video
I love the current neds simple fast and flowwwww
hehe you should change your youtube name doesnt match what im watching
Thanks! I usually like steep and slow but I'm trying to copy all the cool kids :P
Hey guys, love your cycle. Do you have a GPX or KML file of your route you wouldn't mind sharing? Many thanks :)
I do! I'll message you on CrazyGuyOnABike!
Same!
Nice to see you are showing your son a good example of riding with no armour of any kind. Yep...crashes don't happen to me.....
Wooow, what a view! The Canyon looks amazing!
What a terrific virtual tour of Amsterdam my friend, really enjoyed this one a lot. Thanks so much for taking us along. Warm greetings from Bangalore by Daily Passenger ...
Oooooh now this is something I would love to do myself! Just not with a kiddo and from Sweden!
Overall it's a very nice route!
Well done! That’s an epic adventure!
Wow. Two challenging trails made to look easy.
