They were the days..loved the Funhouse, never dared going down the vertical slide! The wacky gold mine was brill, later called the haunted mine. See the people mover, now called the sizzler is still going strong the last time I was there. Never forgotten the theme tune for the ads.
TheSoapy1 hi, I'm reading a book and it talks a lot about the wacky goldmine but the only detail it gave me about the ride was there was an animatronic on a ladder screaming! If you have any more information could you message me? Thanks!
@@vikingsmb You agree that's it's not popular as it used to be? I would say it's more popular and well known now thanks to Doctor Who and Gavin and Stacy.
29 years on and it's got the same rides now hasn't it? Just more worn out and dilapidated. I was there about 14 years ago and it looked pretty much the same as this 1980 advert, except for the peeling paint.
Anyone from South Wales will have hummed this tune at some point - thanks for posting
WANNA GO BACK ICONIC BARRY LOG FLUME PIRATE SHIP MATTER HORN ENTERPRISE
Back in its heyday when Pat Collins owned the park

It is not any pleasure because there are a giant lot of steam locomotives at Barry Scrapyard.

My hometown, Barry Island when it was great back in 1980. The best place to be (30 years b4 flipping Marvin&Tracey, I mean Gavin and Stacey!)
Bring back Barry Island I say! Great video! Thanks for posting!
It a shame that the council or owners hasn't updated this great theme park. Especially with TV shows Gavin & Stacey and Being Human.
John Ninnis it's privately owned and the owner is investing millions in the park

Thank you for posting this, I always hum the tune whenever I watch Gavin and Stacey, or someone mentions Barry!
It's shit now, I hear, compared to what it used to be, way back in its eighties heyday, when I went there as a lad.
