Hot glue doesn't hold everything. The moment those pillows experience any pressure, the glue will start to come apart. Just stick to sewing, it's better and a lot stronger than using glue.

I found i had to anchor the fountain in the middle because the water sprays over the sides and you have to keep topping up the water

I use tape (flower) I rape at both ends in middle and I leave the plastic rape on the foam and I use tacky glue not hot glue (hot glue melts )
