At 15 years old just getting ready to turn 16...I started Lupron for severe endometriosis after my second surgery. I was on it for 2 years and it was a complete nightmare. It's meant to suppress the endometriosis but the side effects throw you into menopause. Looking back,Had it not been for my now... Ex husband and all the love, care, help & support he gave me during that time I probably would have lost my mind. Between support & being by my side after surgery to helping care for me while recovering to the many moods this medication had me experiencing he was my rock! I clearly remember the day I decided on my own,To stop taking the shots & all the other meds as well. It was the moment my first born daughter would be thought of and then convinced shortly after. After being told the medications & all the burning of the disease around my uterus and ovaries along with the scar tissue that had formed...the chance of becoming pregnant or having children was very low. Well,I told my then husband that this is what we are doing. Not even 3 months later I was pregnant:) And our newly purchased house became a home for our little family:) It's interesting that this drug is used to suppress and also help with fertility. It's a difficult medication to be on for anyone. Best wishes to all on this treatment🙏🏼❤️
I forgot to add that I was put back on this medication after a very radical hysterectomy for a short time. Although the issues were different then what I mentioned in my original comment.... fast forward 8 years,my oncologist GYN felt it necessary to be placed on this again. Because what my body was going through & had been prior, I can't really say what side effects I experienced. I had a 6 hour surgery when the hysterectomy happened & so much damage was being repaired within me. I trusted my oncologist with everything in me so I know that whatever treatment he started was for my best. Even if it took a massive toll on my body. It ultimately saved my life at that time. I see a few people mentioning law suits. I have not heard of there being one against Lupron. But I believe anyone who is placed on this medication for any reason at all must have something significant going on. Looking back,The side effects that stayed with me personally...and definitely effected my life and body has just been the alternative to something far worse. The key to being on this medication is having at least one person to help you through. For me... Because illness is a part of my world in every day I know there's always a chance I can come out of remission. And it's important to have people that are solid in your life. The key really is... Support. Anyone going through this treatment needs support.❤️🙏🏼I have been incredibly grateful for the people who not only stood beside me during these times but who helped guide me through them. Best wishes🤷🏼♀️🙏🏼❤️
Can I running 3 days after IUI insemanation?
I have my first injection today. How painful is it going to be?
How can lupron be both a castration drug/puberty blocker and used to increase fertility?
Thank you so much. I have my first ever dose tonight and this was much more helpful than the other clinic tutorials!
I really liked your video thank you

How long it may take to recovery body after OHS? When can i transfer after OHS?
Consuming more salt when you're retaining fluids is generally not recommended. Salt can contribute to fluid retention, as it causes the body to hold onto water. Reducing salt intake is often advised to help reduce fluid retention. Also why recommend junkfood in the first place - bad for health. If salt really is the answer take salt but Don’t make your health worse by taking junkfood and McDonald’s .
Salt pulls the fluid from third spacing to vascular system
Thank you so much for this video! It was very helpful.
You’re right, feeling how it began to shrink and eventually disappear within 2 months was so liberating. I followed the steps I mentioned, and within the first 2 weeks the bloating was gone. I simply go'ogled Tilly Strankten's Ovarian Cyst Guide and it's like I hit the feel-good reset button lol.
I on my first dose and 20 days passed by. Dose was 3.75 I m facing hairfall, Acne and thin scalp hair. Doctor started me for Gender change. Does this thin hair thing stays forever ?
hey how long have you been taking it and did you get it in a pill or tablet?
@@lisaasmr2023 Only 1 dose took 1 month ago. Injection
No.
They tried to give me this after an endo surgery. It's poison. It's chemical castration and I can't believe it's legal.
Thank you, this is so helpful and well explained.
I’m 28 and it’s my first round of IVF starting June they said there gonna put 5 could you explain that I’m kinda confused
Thx for the video..very good guide
Thanks for making this video - very helpful 🙏
What is your protocol for a person who struggles with endometriosis and fresh transfer failed now going for a frozen
Your not supposed to take Lupron longer than a year. Take vitamins to help with bone density
❤🙏🏼
Hi I have been taking Lupron shots since June2021. It was for when I needed to get chemo for breast cancer. I have finished chemo and continuing lupron. If I have unprotected sex with my partner, can I get pregnant? It has been 8 months without a period. Plz help ! I thought you cannot get pregnant so I gave him the okay
Yes you can get pregnant Don’t take the drug longer than a year. Your bone density g wet s ruined. Take vitamins for bone. I am scared I just took my first dose yesterday and I chose the monthly shot instead of the 3 month shot.
It's not likely but unless your wanting to get pregnant I'd use something just to be safe.
Sperm Analysis Abstinence Advice? I am planning on doing sperm analysis and I have a long abstinence for more than 8 days. What do you suggest me to do?
Thanks for your email. Depending on when your semen analysis is scheduled it is preferred that u have approximately 2-3 days of abstinence. You may also contact the clinic that has ordered the semen analysis to discuss your options and see what their recommendations are.
Thank you so much for the video
My wife is considering IVF, is she asleep during this procedure?
Hi Aaron Thanks for your message. This is something you would need to ask the clinic that your wife will be having the procedure at what kind of sedation they provide for the procedure. Thanks Melanie
I’m on my second shot today, I decided to google and came across so many videos with this drug having extreme backlash and now I’m scared.
I have done 3 medicated transfers 1st was fresh 2 and 3 were frozen. All resulted in implantation first went to 15 weeks and we miscarried 2 and 3 resulted in chemical pregnancies. We are entering our 4th transfer and planning on non medicated. My question is I have seen some women doing a natural cycle still do hcg trigger and hcg supplement injections every few days after trigger to tell the body they're pregnant so that the embryo has a chance to continue developing. I'm curious if this is something I should suggest/ask to/of my doctor. All the women I know that did the hcg was because of recurrent miscarriages or chemicals. Thank you!
Hi, how are you doing with your IVF? Did you do hcg trigger in natural cycle? I am in a similar situation.
@@rel256 we had to postpone due to a couple family events but we are actively scheduling again. I did talk to my doctor about it and we are doing hcg twice, once 5 days before transfer and once after transfer and then supplement with progesterone as needed.
@@kyleekuhl2981 Good Luck!
@@rel256 thank you! You too!
Go do genetic test to check if you have blood disorder or natural killer cell before your transfer
Hi, i just did my 1st egg retrieval 8/5 now i have a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst on my left ovary that wasn't there before will the effect my next ivf stimulation next month starting 9/6 the size is 2.2x2.1x2.3cm I'm not sure how the size is calculated in mm but that whats on my paper. Also i have pcos can you help?
Hi good night I'm having some chest pains I don't know if it's the Lupron because I take it many times before an never got any symptoms and can I take relcer for the chest pain even doh I'm on the Lupron injection?
Hello I would strongly recommend seeking medical attention. Lupron can have many side effects but if chest pain occurs it is always recommended to seek medical attention ASAP to rule out a serious condition.
I've just had my first beta at 221! I've worked out / extremely active for last 10 years consistently and it's a huge part of my life. Since I know I am pregnant very early at only 4 weeks, can I continue to do my normal training? I know ill have to start adjusting as I get closer to 2nd trimester but wonder if I can be 100% normal from 4-8 week mark?
Hello Thank you for your inquiry and congratulations! Many people will continue to work out as they have while pregnant. It is always recommended to listen to your body… if an exercise does not feel right then stop. I would recommend that you follow up with your healthcare provider to see what they recommend as many will recommend taking it easy until the first ultrasound. Their guidance will take into consideration everything you have been through to achieve pregnancy and consider any risks based on your medical history. Good luck
Whar if u am just doing Menopur and a trigger shot ? I’m so use to working out but I’m scarred to work out now. Can I do cardio at least ? Is it ok to do cardio after Menopur treatment or should I wait until I know if I’m pregnant or start my period?
Thanks for the informations. Is it possible to get pregnant after stopping lupron injection ?
Hello Thanks for your inquiry. It is recommended to have protected intercourse while on Lupron (despite the side effects being similar to a menopausal state) as a spontaneous pregnancy can occur after taking Lupron. There would be many factors to consider (how long you were on Lupron, the reason for taking Lupron etc) if you think you may be pregnant after having received Lupron it is recommended that you follow up with your doctor.
Omg thank you for this video 🤍
I do it wrong 😑 when put needle 😢
Is Kingston Reproductive Center part of that program? Thanks. We are living here.
Hello, They should be a part of the funded IVF program; but you will need to confirm with them to see how to access it. Good luck!
Can you develop ohhs if your trigger shot changed last minute to lupron? My estrogen was crazy high so they switched to lupron and then I was told my risk of ohhs was slim to none but it’s day 5 after transfer at T the risk of sounding dramatic-I may be dying. Super nauseous and swollen/sore
Hi Nicky Thanks for reaching out. The switch to Lupron for your trigger shot should help the decrease the risk of OHSS; it will not exclude OHSS altogether. Some clinics in addition to the Lupron trigger shot will also put you on a down regulation protocol post egg retrieval to decrease the risk of OHSS. I do recommend following up with your clinic as they may be able to provide a treatment to relieve the symptoms you are experiencing. Good luck and hope you feel better
Thank you so much for answering. I think I really just needed someone to tell me I wasn’t crazy. I did reach out to them and they prescribed me some meds to help with the swelling and some more zolfran. I know this was an older video but it was late at night and I was desperately trying to find anything On the internet for help, I can’t thank you enough
What meds did your clinic prescribe you to manage the symptoms? Thanks.
Hi! Thanks for the video. I just did my embryo transfer yesterday. What should I pay attention to? I know it not good to just sit or lay down all day. But I m not sure what kind of exercise I should be doing at this stage
Hello, thanks for your question. The clinic will usually recommend taking it easy for the first couple of days post transfer… walking is fine during this time. Depending on the type of exercise you normally do would determine your activity level. It’s usually recommended no heavy lifting more than 20lbs, no vigorous activity that causes shortness of breath until pregnancy test. Hope this information helps! Good luck!
Hello! I am currently on my injections now. I’m on day 5 of my stims with gonal and menopur. I was a active runner and would do a lot of cardio for 8 months prior to IVF treatment. This is my first cycle. Am I able to continue running during my process now? I have been walking to take it easy and not cause any harm to the ovaries.
Hello! Thank you for your question. You may find at this point that the motion of running will make you feel as though your ovaries are jiggling. It’s best to take it easy until after the retrieval to avoid any discomfort or issues until your ovaries have returned to normal size. Good luck with your cycle
Great info! Any pre workout recommendation I can take while going through IVF? I have been weight training for over 15 years. Thank you!
Time to sue your doctor cuz you will have all those side effects through your entire life
Yep…
Hi, how often have you seen OHSS occur after an Embryo Transfer? I’m having symptoms 6 days post transfer. Thank you!!
If there is a risk of OHSS most doctors will recommend freezing embryos before doing the transfer as a fresh transfer (if you have produced many follicles/eggs) will exacerbate the symptoms of OHSS. If you become pregnant the hcg produced is what will increase/extend the OHSS.
Hi dear again I need your help I mentioned before that m under procedure of ivf in starting I didn’t do genetic test of embryos bc in my mind that was like u want baby boy or girl so I refused to do that and it’s quite expensive for me So after egg retrieval I had ohss issues so we didn’t transfer fresh embryos we delayed But on Saturday they will transfer frozen embryos but after watching altos of videos about pgd test so now I want to do but it’s not possible on frozen embryos Or why its was very very important Bc I chose to not do but now m confused
Wow, So informative.. thank you for this video 😀
would you prefer doing through rectal or vaginal area?
Progesterone injections in canada are to be done intramuscular Which requires a large muscle; therefore it is recommended to be injected into to upper outer quadrant of the buttocks. Some doctors may prescribe progesterone suppositories/ tablets/ gel which can be done vaginally or rectally.
After the injection I waited a few seconds and removed the needle but some of the medication ran out of the puncture hole.
Hello that is normal and is minuscule to the dosing. What you can try is (depending how hard you are pinching the area for injection) is release the pinch just prior to withdrawing the needle or not pinch the area so hard/taut during the injection. Good luck!
Hi, thank you for the Video, I was just in touch with my fertility clinic and they said I should go to the ER and say I am bloated due to IVF. I did that and ended up leaving because they didn't seem to know what they were doing. so now im still bloated and short of breath but I will do the salt food suggestion tomorrow morning and hope this doesn't get worse. listening to you gives me hope that I can ease the bloating.
Hi dear after my egg retrieval doctor told me to take rest for one and second day of my periods to visit her, so now my periods are 5 days late To much pain on my left side mostly abdomen pain . So I visit to my nearest hospital they told me that my right ovary size 10.10 mml So because of that you have pain and then urine infection But when I contacted with my ivf doctor about my situation she told me that it’s seems fine to her just follow the doctor prescription But I don’t know what I have to do like why it’s happened and then when embryos can be transferred 😕 Plz advise me and sorry English is not my first language so i hope you will understand what I want to tell u
It is normal for the ovaries to be enlarged after the egg retrieval this takes time to go back to normal size. If you received a prescription for a urine infection I would recommend taking it as prescribed. Because your period is late I would teach out to the fertility clinic/doctor to see if they want you to come in for blood test (to assess hormones) or to wait. Once you have your period the doctor will be able to get you started on the frozen embryo transfer protocol. Good luck!
@@yourivfnurse5273 thank you so much
Very Very helpful...Thanks a lot
I have a 900 pen, but use 300 dose. I didn't prime the pen on my first injection (although I did see a drop of liquid at the tip of the needle before injection). After the injection I noticed 2-3 drop of liquid at the tip of the needle, even though I held it in for 6seconds. Are those drops normal, or did I do it wrong & lost some of the medication dose at the end of the process?
To see dripping is normal. There is overfill in the pen/cartridge to allow for this.
Hi Melenie, I’m doing my research for incoming IVF. Those common words are the exact ones I am looking for educating myself. Thank you for this informative video!
