Hearthstone Lincoln first burn and initial review with heat gun.

Using an IR gun for heat testing. I was impressed with this little stove. One of the smallest EPA rated 80% stoves out on the market. Can't wait to stuff this thing and get to testing it. About thirty minutes into the burn reached over 500 degrees on the stones! Going to keep this cabin nice and hot throughout the winter. Do you live in an area with alot of freeze/thaw cycles? If yes, patios should not be connected to the house as they will(or should) "float" with the sub base, as there is no frost protection under the patio. Foundations are typically dug below the frost line so it shouldn't heave. Connecting the patio to the foundation could prevent it from moving with the native soil in freeze/thaw and potentially cause cracking. If you live in warmer climates this is not as much of an issue and connecting the two shouldn't be problematic.
Great Idea !!
That’s really cool to see done professionally, great job. I’m removating my garage ceiling attic for storage and my vertical rafter ties are at the first 2 feet, would you suggest that I use a large beam in the middle mounted to the floor as well as rafter ties blocking and vertical rafter ties for it. (Btw it was built in 1980 so the joists aka rafter ties are sagging, wavy and are nailed together in the middle)
I would suggest getting an engineer involved. Money well spent to have them review and give a professional opinion on your specific rafters. Knowing they are sagging tells me something isn't right and probably needs to be corrected before you start using for any storage.
Nice work I post concrete work also
Thanks!
I got a question for you I'm going to finish your form center how come your guy running to shoot can't put mud on both sides of that screen to keep it so you can have a great to follow
Not sure I completely understand the question. Garage has a break at the threshold between the garage floor and the driveway. So it can be poured at a different time than the driveway. Easier to pour the garage floor without framing in place. That’s why it was done at an earlier stage.
What insulation is that? and how did you all keep it between the joists (straps on underside?)
It looks beautiful there
We are blessed indeed!
Thanks! We are blessed indeed.
Will do. Easy got an oil extractor. Takes maybe five minutes.
Read the manual & do the first oil change on time , could be as little as 8hrs
Looks really cool man!
Why is it doing so poorly?
Not sure. It’s an old tree that has been limbed so many times. It’s the only tree showing this. I would guess it got some sort of decease. I’ll down the tree here soon and check out the base of the tree.
It’s a stepped foundation. So there’s multiple steps throughout.
So what's the point of the drop is there a purpose or is it just a demonstration of ability
Great question. The foundation of the house is stepped so the base follows the foundation. It was wonderful to watch a machine follow the grade. Never designed to do this but the operator handled it with skill.
Okaaaaaaay
Directly from Sherpa in Libby. They installed ordered and installed them for me. It was a seamless process. Highly recommend. I haven’t taken them off road yet but I am anticipating they’ll be a great addition!
Where do you get them and how much do they cost?
