    I don't think this guy is paralyzed with all the control he has. But it is an amazing machine for paralyzed people to walk.

    Soon they can connect this to a remote microchip on the brain to move with natural thoughts. It's already done just not completed or expanded yet. Same type exoskeleton will move hands too with brain order.

  • @markpettigrew3482
    @markpettigrew3482 9 років тому

    Oh, give me a freaking break! Another ReWalk video showing that the users need forearm crutches. A REX is much better, from what I've seen. You get what you pay for.

    • @Hesam0000
      @Hesam0000 9 років тому

      REX walks like turtle, ReWalk sounds like a rusty machine, the only decent one is the Eksoskeleton made by Berkeley-Bionics.

    • @markpettigrew3482
      @markpettigrew3482 9 років тому

      Hesam0000 It's always good to be aware of all the options. I'd be interested to know if people can use the Ekso without using forearm crutches.

    • @Hesam0000
      @Hesam0000 9 років тому

      Mark Pettigrew Yes, walkers can also be used but the good news is the Neurobridge which transfers brain's message to the muscles through a remote chip and sensor installed on brain surface. The same chip can order different movements by Eksoskeletons in case person's muscles are unrepairable. The best case scenario would be gene-repair(in genetic desease), then using stem-cells to rebuild muscles and nerves and then train the muscles by using Neuro-bridge until own nerves start functioning.

      A aspect you are overlooking is speed combined with Safety. Both Rewalk Exo must use crutches in order to reach real world speed. Right now Rex is to slow for real world applications and will be confined to rehabs in the short term. A couple of nasty falls could lead to a rapid financial demise, thus the reason for the extra stability.

    I don't think people really realize how wonderful this is, the quality of live improvements for so many will be worth more than all the gold in the world, this is what being human is about.

  • @FriendlyPitbull1

    Wouldn't it be worth it to have Voice Command? Instructing device to "Walk" then turn on "Stairs" giving further instruction, "Right leg first" then go on to "Left leg next" pushing buttons seems like a hassle. Voice Command like "Stand" seems easier. I'm glad to see people walking. I use a scooter in stores and hate the numb butt. Wheel chair bound people must live with that 24/7. That sucks!

  • @hectortafoya5269
    @hectortafoya5269 10 років тому

    Cool, but the controls should be on the crutches, else using the stairs look so slow and with possibility to drop the crutch

    • @fabioalvescorrea
      @fabioalvescorrea 10 років тому

      It's indeed amazing as is is, but I can see even more improvements. One mini joystick in each crutch handle could command the direction and speed. To change direction, just push one less forward than another. To stop and turn, push one back and other forward. 3D detectors like Kinect in front and rear could detect the terrain and adjust the walking programming automatically. To sit in a bench just walk backwards into it. Voice commands could be nice too.

    • @KeswickCamp08

      it detects balance and can help fix it but the legs should be used with the "crutches" like in the video

    This kind of thing usually costs around 100 000 dollars (USD) in total. My group is currently doing a cost down study, but it's not likely to go in price anytime soon. My sincere advice is to get a wheelchair for a fraction of the cost, and then enter a good rehabilitation program.

    we are two phisiotherapyst that use rewalk with our patients. we saw the video and we want to know if the boy in the video uses a sort of knee pad to reduce the knee's flexion, that it is caused by gravity probably. Another question: What is his level of injury? thank you
