We got invited to stay at our friend's house in Silverton, CO for the 4th of July weekend. We had tons of fun with friends and family. Rooftop Tent Mattress Upgrade By QOMOTOP
Переглядів 13 тис.3 роки тому
Check out our NEW rooftop tent mattress. We ended up purchasing the OT QOMOTOP 4" self-inflating mattress from Amazon. In the past we had two 1.5" egg carton foam toppers and found it difficult to close the tent and wasn't as comfortable as we wanted. With the new mattress, not only is it super comfy, but we are able to close the tent without any issues. That is with our sleeping bag and pillow...

Hey Everyone! This video is showcasing our new overland trailer/rooftop tent trailer/off-road trailer... whatever you want to call it lol. We did not build it, we found this trailer for sale on Facebook Marketplace for a really good price. There are some parts of the trailer that will need swapping out and such but it's a great start. So if you have any suggestions on how we can make this bette...
The Grand Canyon & White Tank Mountain Regional Park Camping Trip! [S2E1]
Переглядів 2003 роки тому
We were invited to join two of our great friends, Josh & Amanda on their camping trip. We decided to stay at the Grand Canyon and finish our trip in Phx area in White Tank. Crazy weather but we are glad we got to enjoy warm temps and clear skies in White Tank. Enjoy this quick edit of the little footage we did get!
Ironman 4x4 Awning Review! The Best Budget Awning?
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
Hey guys! Here is a more detailed look at how I set up the 2 Meter Awning by Ironman 4x4 with w/ Awning Xtra. The Awning Xtra is basically just a sidewall that attaches to the C channel on the Awning. I did rip the Xtra wall when putting into the C channel so that was disappointing. Hopefully, that doesn't cause any problems down the road. Other than that, Julia and I really enjoy the set up th...

Hey guys! So I originally was suppose to vlog this entire camping trip but ended up not picking up the camera as often as I should've. So major fail on my part but I did make a quick edit of the clips I did have on the camera! This was the first outing with the Ironman 4x4 2M awning. I absolutely love this thing. It is solid and so easy to set up! This was our 4th time using out new rooftop ten...
Hows the Pad holding up after all this time? Any issues?
@@alizeriancrimson5692 no issues so far still using the same pad!
@@jugaoverland6017 Sick! Thanks for the quick reply I didn't think I would get one given the lack of content recently, Happy Camping 🏕🤘
Do you have to have the mesh on or they are removable?
Mesh wall is attached to the whole canopy and isn’t removable. there is “front” and “back” entrances and you can unzip both and roll 1/2 or all sides.
Thank you very much I have that same sleeping bag. I think they should be able to fit our tough stuff over land
How does it work in very cold temps?
Can it stay inflated while it is packed up in the tent during travel to the next campsite? Or at the minimum deflated but still remaining in the tent during transit?
Seems like this setup would sleep very hot in the summertime, what say you?
We've never had an issue
You pay thousand for them but still they give you 2 dollar Mattres 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
The double has 2 inflating valves and folds in half for packing up. Are there actually 2 chambers so you can adjust firmness differently for each side?
There is a single chamber operated by the 2 valves. A dual-chamber would be a pretty cool design!
@@jugaoverland6017 Thanks!
Nice work. Was seeing the girl and was waiting to laugh if she started undressing.

Ewe, pervert
Your link no longer works just a heads up
Thanks, I just updated it!
What are you using for your condensation mat?
Hey! I had installed some carpet squares I got from lowes but they ended up not sticking due to the summer heat. So I ended up taking them off. I threw the old mattress back in the tent and now just put the qomotop mattress on top of that when we camp. Then I just remove the qomotop when we are done using the tent.
Great video. Have you found that the carpet tiles helped with the condensation under the mattress?
Yes it does work! But I found it doesn't stick too well if it is hot. I had issues with tiles shifting and falling off due to the adhesive heating up when the tent was folded up and stored outside in the summer heat. Im thinking of just buying a wool blanket from an army surplus store and rolling that out everytime we open the tent and putting the inflatable mattress on top of that.
Great vid and info, I just bought a Howling moon, they supplied what was supposed to be HD 75mm, I got a 70mm soft mattress, not happy when unboxing a top roof tent..
Oh no! What did you end up doing??
Thx for the review. That seems to be a great alternative and should even safe some weight too. Other question. Could you please have a look for me what model and make your RTT ladder is? I'm searching desperately for an collapsible ladder that has the red buttons underneath most of the steps. They seem to be gone of any online Shop i know of. Nowadays you only find ladders you have to disengage every step separately. So if you could hook me up with any info bout the ladder that'll be great. Cheers Sascha
Hey! So I bought mine from a local distributor in New Mexico, Altitude Rooftop Tents. The model I have is the Renegade. It came with the small ladder you get on the lower end rooftop tents. I ordered up the 8.5ft Wolfwise telescoping ladder on amazon and Jerry rigged it on. I do have to extend it all the at out when setting up and tearing down the tent. You can always order a telescoping ladder from well known tent manufactures like Tuff Stuff, but you’ll pay twice as much.
Nothing better than a good nights sleep, all the best from the far north of New Zealand!
Thank you so much!
What floorcover do you have
Stick on carpet tiles from Lowe’s. They are coming off from the summer heat so I don’t recommend it. Probably better off getting an anti condensation mat!
I didn't know you had a drone. Nice video. Camper looks cool. Looks fun
Thanks! Yeah I'm still getting used to working it and getting usable footage.
I would like to get one of those rooftop tents.
Okay silly question. Does it come with hardware to attach to vehicle???
Yes it comes with two L brackets you can mount to your rig!
It does but you more likely to buy a separate set of brakets because the ones that comes with it is for a specific type of roof rack.
@@javi111488 true you can do that. I just drilled some holes into my roof rack.
@@jugaoverland6017 i built a couple of brakets myself and it only cost me 6 bucks at homedepot. I didnt like the idea of drilling and weakening my roofrack.
@@javi111488 sweet!
Nice video thanks
Thanks for watching!
IS THAT A CONDENSATION MATT UNDERNEATH THE MATTRES?
No those are carpet tiles! It acts like a condensation mat tho. I didn’t want to put the mattress on the bare floor.
Excellent review. What is the dimensions of your tent platform or stock mattress? Is it 80x56? Thanks
Yes that is what my mattress was. It is narrower in the middle because the hinges so the ‘Double’ sized mattress fit perfect. We still put a blanket in between the hinges and mattress to minimize rubbing on the mattress 👍🏽
@@jugaoverland6017 is the Qomotop also 80 inches long? It looked like there was space at the end of the tent.
@@dougg8280 yes it the original mattress was around 90” long so there will be a gap. QOMOTOP is 80” long and 52” wide.
oh great video im looking for a new matress and i think i will check the qomotop do you leave it inside when you fold up the tend ?
Yes we love it so far! We are able to close up the mattress, wool blanket, double sleeping bag, and our pillows. I do have extra room to spare as well!
@@jugaoverland6017 sounds great 👍 And thank you for the fast response 🙌
@@chrissorour222 Thanks for watching!
Looks like a great start. Lots of options with that trailer. I would be inclined to redo all the hinges on all the doors though. A sneaky person with a cordless drill with a screw bit will make short work of removing the door hinges and get at your gear quickly. Consider making a welded angle iron frame around the doors as well as the door openings and adding piano hinges inside the gap. Obviously you would have to trim the door to give the needed clearance around it. Maybe also sturdy up the door latch with a metal backing plate and an actual locking RV door handle. Being a plywood body, a crow bar would pop that current lock off in short order. Looking forward to future upgrades and trip reports. I recently added an ARB screen room to my 2500x2500 ARB awning on my trailer, and an Ironman screen room to my 2000 x 2500 ARB awning on my truck. The Ironman was cheaper with a removable floor, so I went with that one. The Ironman fits the ARB perfectly!
Thanks! It definitely is a good starting point. Great points on the locks and hinges. I’ll look into that this week. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback!
The Ironman awnings seem to be the best bang for your buck awnings. $199 for the 2M awning and $89 for the wall, $288 total free shipping, no tax. I'm about to pull the trigger on one. Thanks for the video.
I’m a year late but I just grabbed mine. Also +1 on this video for proper set up (placing awning atop car while dealing with poles instead of holding it above head while dealing with poles)
